006.JPG007.JPG As far as I know Trophy only made five elephant sets not counting those made for the "Under Two Flags" shop in London. I thought I would post photos of the five sets in one thread for easy reference. The first is the Prince of Wales set for the Durbar and is the only set where the elephant had tusks. The second is EQ26 for the Indian Army and is very rare. If you scroll back through the Trophy thread, Martyn has some great photos of three of the sets.

Trophy also made a civilian "Zoo Ride" for 6th set which I will post. Tommy

Love elephant sets, still waiting for the JJD to be released. TCS also said they would be doing a Roman War one. I have a couple from the Britain's Durbar series which fit in with my Sedan & IC series. Your sets lend themselves to the gloss aspect being so colourful. These are full of interest, thanks for sharing, cheers, Robin.

Thanks Martyn. I will post photos of the Zoo and Troop carrier sets next. Would you mind posting your photos of the two remaining Indian Mutiny sets? Thanks. Tommy

Thanks Robin. If you like elephant sets in gloss, please look at my Marlborough, Beau Geste, and WM. Hocker albums. Tommy

Wonderful sets, really enjoyed seeing these. Thanks for sharing guys. Chris

Those are some wonderful sets the two of you have. Garrisons, a toy soldier store in Brisbane, Australia, has the Prince of Wales State Elephant (PW-1) set for sale although it may be pricey at $675. Don't know if that listing is still current.

Brad,

I was tempted a while back, but successfully resisted. The listing disappeared a year ago, but is back up now.

Your post has revived the temptation.....rather pricey set. I resolve to stand firm again. ^&grin:tongue:

Raymond :D

I agree there are some rather nice sets being shown - you can't beat an elelphant set for the wow factor! ^&cool

Thanks Jeff and also Chris, Brad and Raymond. I would expect that you would have to pay at least $500 for the Prince of Wales set. Tommy

So is what they're asking a reasonable number, Tommy?

Brad
If it is boxed and in pristine condition, see if they would take $550.00. Every time I have let a $100 stand in my way, I can't find the set again. Years ago I could have bought the Arab dhow for $850. Can't even find one for sale now. Dumb on my part. Tommy
