Hi Guy
I'm a big fan of your masterpieces
And I must confess that I see your little dio of this moment in the history of the Battele of the bulge.

but we also know where this set is coming from and that is this picture.

I have out respect for the casuaty's the picture slightly modified

Ardennen01.jpg

Hope we can still be friends.

Sorry for my English Boys

Harrie

I thank you both for your diorama photos, as you know this scene was in Honsfeld, Belgium December 1944, a desperate time for all.

guy:)

Thanks mate :) :) :)
Do you know if the German's Panzer-Division's used the Tiger I tanks in The Ardennes 1944/1945

Ihave never seen a picture of the Tiger I in the Ardenne

Groet Harrie

Hi harrie, great dio you have created there, and yes I have seen the actual photo a few times in different books I read and always has made me stop and wonder how bad does it have to get when you have to remove another mans boots after he is dead?? war is hell is the saying and it's about as true as it gets...Sammy

Great start. If it were me doing it, it'd be done already! I can't wait to see the final project!

Harrie, very, very nice, detailed and realistic Bulge dio you`re building there! As for Tigers I in the Ardennes campaign, I think Guy will certainly know better than none in this forum, but I had such doubts myself before placing a Tiger I in my Bulge dio, and here goes my modest (and I hope correct) intel after some research I`ve made some time ago: although there is some dispute, Schwere Panzer Kompanie "Hummel", attached to the 506 as its fourth company, had 8 Tiger I`s at the outset of the offensive. If true, they fought in the Bastogne region, close to the border with Luxembourg. I hope Guy might validate or rule this out (history or story..). ^&confuse

Harrie,

After I read and replied to this thread I got curious once more and got back into some books and I came up with another unit with Tiger I's in the Ardennes: Panzer Abteilung 301 Funklenk, attached to 9th Panzer Division, had, according to Danny S. Parker's "Battle of the Bulge: Hitler's Ardennes Offensive, 1944-1945", 27 Tiger I's, 20 operational. Hope this info is accurate and helpful.

Herrie
Sw Panzer Abteilung 506 had 41 Tiger I's in the Ardennes . I have a picture of a tiger I of the 506th -N°411 destroyed by the allies near Oberwampach in Luxembourg.
Here it is

100% correct

Guy,

Thanks for validating both intel; I couldn't entirely vouch for them. As I said before I'm pretty sure nobody in this forum knows more of the Ardennes campaign than you!!!:wink2:
