Hi Guys,
Just thought I’d catch up with a few different threads on the Forum…

1. DAK 88?

Like some of you blokes I love the “88” but no plans for another at this stage… for the following reasons…Very costly to manufacture and very expensive to sell. In today’s tough economy it’s better (at least as far as K&C is concerned) to put more emphasis on the small and medium vehicles and guns.​

2. RAF Mustang?

I personally like it a lot but (that word again) believe most collectors would prefer USAAF versions and so…​

3. 35T/38T tanks?

Fully agree…they are great little fighting vehicles….Watch this space!​

4. Texas Toy Soldier Show 2013

Happy to report lots of interest in America’s Fastest Growing Toy Soldier Show.
Quite a few overseas collectors coming and more than a few brand-new dealers stepping on board for the 2013 event.
Last year’s door numbers were up by 40% and most if not all dealers reported their best-ever sales. We expect to beat last year!​

5. “Come back Rob!”

As many have said….”C’mon back Rob, it’s not the same without you!”​

6. “Combat” TV Show

Back in the 60’s I used to love watching Vic Morrow and his squad get regularly wounded, captured, escaped, shot at, blown up, kill hundreds of Jerries (How come the Germans could capture most of Europe and be such lousy shots?!?)
Most of it was shot on the old MGM backlot in Culver City L.A. which if it was not falling apart before the “Combat” guys arrived it was certainly that way after they departed!!!
Very inspirational show for Gordon and me.​

7. What new figures would you like to see etc…?

Again a wide and varied selection of suggestions and ideas…And some very good ones as well….But here’s the thing….Coming up with this or that or the next thing is relatively easy….I do it all the time!
The hard part is picking the ones you think will sell to the majority of collectors out there. As a manufacturer (and a collector) I sometimes try to wear both hats and at other times separate commercial interests from personal taste….Believe me it ain’t easy but it’s usually fun. From what I read in a thread like this most responders just pick what they personally like or are interested in with little or no regard to what might be commercially viable or what might even complement existing ranges.
But no harm done….it’s all good clean Forum Fun. Keep those suggestions rolling in…​

8. Finally….

A big thanks for the enthusiastic response to the latest “DISPATCHES”….We aim to please…All the best and happy collecting!​

Thank for the reply on the P51 Andy and agree a US version would sell well but also think a RAF would sell well to don't you and wonder if you do that version after the US one ?

Hello Andy. Speaking to point #6 about Combat!, that backlot village that was the scene of so many episodes, no longer exists. It was bulldozed over and is now a housing development. The village was last used in the 1980 movie 'The Stuntman' in which it had large parts demolished in the course of the movie. A lot of Combat! episode shooting was also done at the Thousand Oaks area in California, but these locations have also sucumbed to development and no longer exist as such. The famous lake (Myer's Lake) and woods (with the roads and concrete drainage ditchs) used in so many Combat! episodes (and the Andy Griffith Show) still exists near Franklin Canyon, L.A., Ca., and is still recognizable though somewhat overgrown. Combat! was and remains a great show. ^&cool -- Al

Always appreciate the replies and info supplied back from Andy /King&Country himself regarding possible and upcoming new releases.Looking forward to adding a T-38 to my classic German's as this would go quite nicely with them :wink2:
I would agree 100% that this years Texas Show "Will" be the best yet and looking forward to meeting some of our 'Cobbers" from across the other end of the globe.

It just seems like it's time to develop the early war period...Like you say , alot that can be done ! I mean aside from the 35t & 38t , different versions of the Pz 1 & 2...Early grey Pz 3...If that's where we are heading i am looking forwrd to it !

Nice video's on various tanks.....one question...did the Germans use the same wheeled set up on most of their tanks and was this setup not as reliable as the Yanks and Russians,,,,,I read the German Tanks were over engineered ...is this correct ?,,,was their track set up part of the problem....I know you are into tanks so I reckon your the bloke to ask...cheers Tomb

The video i posted here is of a Pz 38t...Actually a Czeckoslovakian tank which was incorporated into the german army after Hitler had seized it & wanted production at the factories to continue so as to augment the german armies lack in medium tanks at that point of the war...The wheel set-up was different on each Pz based on size & length...Yes, the German tanks did require more man-hours & finishing than say either an American or Russian tank...Later in the war as most of the factories were being manned by slave labor , There was widespread sabotage of the later war tanks going on ie the Tiger & Panther...Other than acts of sabotage & teething problems on the Panthers due to the need to rush them into combat so as to match up against the T-34...That all being said , the german armor industry designed & created some of the most reliable & deadliest tanks of WW2...
