You are one of the band experts on this forum. have you seen the Britain's hollowcast 9th Lancers band ? how well done is it ? MKL is selling it for 40 pounds which is about $60 and seems to be a bargain

    Hi Dave,

I make my own ethnic orchestras and dancing groups. See my website www.gcmtoy.com

I used to collect K&C and Frontline bands. I have sold a number off and will soon post pics of the remaining bands.

    Hi Dave,

You have a very nice collection of marching bands.
Besides a couple of early Frontline bands: Austro-Hungarian band and The King's Royal Rifle Corps band, I make my own bands myself now.

    Hi Dave,

I just finished reviewing your albums and I am very impressed with your collection of bands! Your collection is remarkable! My compliments! Do you have room in your Social Group for someone who enjoys and owns a few of the Bands that marched in the 1903 Delhi Durbar?

Again, my compliments! You have a wonderful collection!

    Warmest personal regards,

    Pat
Hi Dave Rp World model castings for a single foot figure is about £4-5 but then if you want head changes and other bits they cost about 40 pence each, its a good way to build bands up. If you look at his website you can email him he is very obliging as to mix and matching to your requirements
    Regards John
    Hey Dave

Yes they are I would definately consider getting another one. Probably ones of the best dogs I have ever owned.
Hi Dave thats a good idea to start a band interest group I'm sure lots of forum members will be interested,I was just looking through my boxes of casting today and found at least 3 bands that I need to start making up and painting one of them is a 13 piece mounted lancer band Ive even got about 4 sets of plated instruments which I forgot I had, well got to go got soldiers to paint. Cheers John.
I noticed a message to beating retreat regarding bands,,I have mentioned to him I retore old britains and others, part of a past business and one way I could afford to collect. My bands are a composite of old figures done or converted plus my own homecasts, I have instrument molds and thouroughly enjoy it all.
Hi Dave I made a mistake on my dates I was demob in 1992 and at Edinburgh Tattoo in 1990 that year they had the Gurkha Pipes and drums and also the band of the Adelaide police with about 30 young lady dancers, I had my work cut out that year watching what my young male dog handlers got up to!! One of my latest projects is painting the fusiliers figures RAF Leuchars axillary Pipe Band, Britains recently did it but could not afford it ready painted and besides more fun painting myself. cheers John
