My wife surprised me yesterday with this gift for my birthday. VN170 USMC M35A3 Cargo Truck. I've been telling her for a while now how I am interested in creating a Vietnam War shelf display. She knew I've mentioned how I rode in many of these trucks back in the day during my time in the Marines. Well now I guess I have no choice but to make the display.

Nice! Great gift indeed. Look forward to seeing your future 'Nam dios, Mike.

THX Rob. I've been looking at this truck ever since it was released in 2023. Call it nostalgia for once what was. My idea for the shelf display will be more urban than rural. I want to incorporate (with artistic license 😉) a Hudson and Allen sidewalk section as well as a cobblestone street section in the display. The town of Hoi An, in South Central Vietnam is one of the very few cities in Vietnam that has cobblestone streets. Hoi An is about 27 km south of Da Nang in Quang Nam province.

Great truck, Mike. It probably won't take you long to build an impressive collection.
My K&C 'Nam collection is rather limited as I opted to pursue The Collector's Showcase after initially purchasing their Huey.
Only have a few K&C figures from Full Metal Jacket having the priviledge of knowing "Rafterman", Kevyn Major Howard. Great guy who passed away in Feb this year.

Very nice display Rob. I wish I would have jumped on the Vietnam street buildings made by Last Post Miniatures. Sadly they are now gone and extremely hard to find. There are several sets in your scene that are on my want list: The Vietnam Wall Set, Miss Papillon, et al

Great looking truck Mike. My youngest son visited Vietnam several years back, he loved it, especially Ha Long Bay.

I have Four Vietnam shelf displays, Three are rural, I have both K & C Hueys and Two Collectors Showcase versions, hoping for an Aussie Huey soon, can't have to many helicopters imo.

I'm really looking forward to seeing what you come up with Mike. It's going to be a wild ride 🤪. Paul

THX Paul . . . Stay tuned.

Thank you OZ. The K&C USMC Huey is on my want list for this month. It will be my first helicopter.

There you go, mate, till you rectify the background View attachment 357889;)

That is outstanding Wayne! Luv it. Very, very cool 😎. Thank you very much.

Really like this one Mike, thanks.

You are welcome Kevin. Wayne worked his magic on my photo and added the Vietnam street scene behind it. I would really like to learn how to do that.

Mike:
Thanks for sharing, the weathering on that truck is super realistic.

I'm glad you enjoyed the photos Jason. Your spot on with the finishing details on the truck. I am extremely pleased how it looks.

Nice addition to your collection Mike.

THX Chris. My collection is starting to be very eclectic considering when I started my interest was only all things Civil War.

Matt, I ordered the K&C VN189SE "USMC Troop Carrier HUEY" helicopter yesterday. Should be delivered mid-week
