I don't know, think you have to let some of this shake out. We did take out another part of their Navy that appears to be a positive. I am the first to say no boots on the ground, that would be a losing proposition no matter how you play it. I am more wait and see here as you can't fight a war in the media, I know they are giving daily updates, but and this is just me, I watched 4 different news programs this morning from Paris Texas - 2 National and 2 Local and they all covered the Pentagon press conference, yet I got four different interpretations of information. I find that disturbing. I just want to know what happened overnight, is that too much to ask, or do I have to perform research the equivalent of a PHD on a daily basis to find out what is happening. Mike - not sure what you watched, but the only one I got facts from was a local ABC affiliate in Paris (probably out of Dallas). The CNN report to be honest was the worst one and was all opinion from a paid talking head (I can't stand these people, they seem to have no skill other than talking their opnions on national programs), Fox only showed military advances and no analysis of what actually occurred, and the other local one was disjointed and hard to follow. I find that frustrating. All the news is today is disturbing...I’m really disappointed with the lack of progress in the war against Iran...progress seems stagnant the last few days...while we did eliminate the existing regime...that vacancy was filled just days after...what has been done so far seems like a global calamity...every country in the world is suffering from higher oil prices...not just the US...every country in the world...global inflation is a fact...attacks on oil infrastructures and threats to shipping routes in the blocked Straight of Hormuz are creating massive backlogs in energy supplies...the Dow has taken a serious hickey since the war started...video clearly shows that it was a US Tomahawk missile that struck an Iranian girl’s school...killing 175 people...Trump claims he hasn’t seen the video and claims Iran had some of the Raytheon Tomahawk missiles...but the only countries using them are Japan, the Netherlands, Australia and the UK...there is toxic “black rain” in Iran...I’m feeling the more we bomb Iran causing civilian casualties...the more Iranian civilians will resent/support us...the US has already spent over $10 billion in just 10 days financing this war...and now we seem to be at a stalemate...we just had a domestic terrorist’s act in NY City...which we all suspected might happen to some degree...but this may be a precursor of what is to come...I don’t know what’s next...maybe boots on the ground…I sure would like some good news...maybe the US grossly underestimated Iran...
Tom...it's all frustrating...makes me upset...but still I find myself online looking for news as soon as I wake up...I actually thought we would crush Iran into submission in just a few days...the biggest obstacle is the new regime...and the Straight of Hormuz...and I don't have any idea how we plan to take control the Straight...but I have a good idea how we will address the new regime...I watch both CNN...FOX...Muir and Llamas...and of course my local news...most of my research is done on line...it seems more unbiased...maybe I'm just impatient or naive...but I want to see some positive progress soon...I don't know, think you have to let some of this shake out. I think I found a positive - apparently Israeli intelligence is reporting the new "leader" is injured but unknown how critical, but Iran has only been showing his photo. I am almost wondering aloud if he is either dead or in bad shape. Not to sound cold, but that would be a good thing, that entire family/regime is evil personified.Tom...it's all frustrating...makes me upset...but still I find myself online looking for news as soon as I wake up...I actually thought we would crush Iran into submission in just a few days...the biggest obstacle is the new regime...and the Straight of Hormuz...and I don't have any idea how we plan to take control the Straight...but I have a good idea how we will address the new regime...I watch both CNN...FOX...Muir and Llamas...and of course my local news...most of my research is done on line...it seems more unbiased...maybe I'm just impatient or naive...but I want to see some positive progress soon...

I agree though on Strait (needs to be addressed ASAP) - it looks like we are moving that way, I trust our Admirals to execute a plan there, I just wish it was yesterday
Everyone has a right to there own opinion Mike.my pick for the Democratic party...
Arizona Senator Mark Kelly is widely considered a moderate Democrat, often ranked as one of the most bipartisan senators...
I consider myself an Independent too...leaning left...I like some of the things Trump has done...and dislike others...trying to keep an open mind...
I hope nobody jumps down my throat on here for saying that...
thank you Mark...Everyone has a right to there own opinion Mike.
Mark
We all want this done and dusted quickly and for some reason nowadays, we all expect wars to be over in the matter of days. Maybe it's the pressure of TV !Tom...it's all frustrating...makes me upset...but still I find myself online looking for news as soon as I wake up...I actually thought we would crush Iran into submission in just a few days...the biggest obstacle is the new regime...and the Straight of Hormuz...and I don't have any idea how we plan to take control the Straight...but I have a good idea how we will address the new regime...I watch both CNN...FOX...Muir and Llamas...and of course my local news...most of my research is done on line...it seems more unbiased...maybe I'm just impatient or naive...but I want to see some positive progress soon...
on Mark Kelly, I had a lot more respect for him previously than I do now. Like most politicians, he has taken some cheap shots for his own press that are just not productive. As a decorated military officer, I do expect more maturity from him and to put himself above the fray. That is what I would like to see in our next President. Basically, stay out of the sand box and act like an adult. Sadly, I have this feeling that I am going to be disappointed.thank you Mark...
if a Republican is elected...right now...I agree it should be Rubio...your comment on his professionalism and decorum ring true...but I'm not swayed on Kelly if he decides to run...I personally admire that he stood with 5 other lawmakers that spoke out against refusing to obey unlawful and illegal orders from a soldier's superior military commanders...on Mark Kelly, I had a lot more respect for him previously than I do now. The most "adult" I see in the current mix is Marco Rubio. I think he is trying to stay on task and trying to do the best job he can. I also think his appearances before Congress have shown decorum thus far and regardless of whether I agree with everything he says, at least he is doing it with professionalism as best he can in what is arguably the most snake infested place on Earth - Washington DC.

Tom...we are going to disagree on this...Kelly's response was directly related to 2 survivors of an "alleged drug boat" strike...floating in the wrecked debris after their boat was capsized...unarmed and incapable of putting up a fight...they should have been pulled from the water and interrogated for drug intel...not killed...Mike
Part of that rubbed me the wrong way and I had that discussion with my cousin who is a retired full bore Air Force Colonel (decorated in both Gulf Wars), ie no desk jockey. Regardless of his personal conviction, to me, it came off as a political stunt and to give my cousin's opinion - an insult. Now, in full disclosure, my cousin is a Texan, a Republican, but I would tell you he is a Reagan Republican. The other issue there, what part was deemed unlawful and illegal? That was the rub too for me. Taking out drug boats seemed ok to me, it has been going on unabated for over 30 years or more.
Like I said, I think there was a better avenue to pursue their objections then what came across to me as a cheap publicity stunt. BUT, unfortunately, that is the current tone in Washington on a lot of things.
Tom
regardless of stance on Kelly I don’t have much sympathy for drug runners, you know the game you are playing. I am not going to lose sleep over that. Take the risk for gold, take the risk of death that comes with it. IMO there are plenty of other avenues as well as issues to put that kind of stake in the ground for Kelly. But again all my opinion, respect for yours.Tom...we are going to disagree on this...Kelly's response was directly related to 2 survivors of an "alleged drug boat" strike...floating in the wrecked debris after their boat was capsized...unarmed and incapable of putting up a fight...they should have been pulled from the water and interrogated for drug intel...not killed...
International law, specifically the Second Geneva Convention of 1949 (GC II) and Customary International Humanitarian Law (IHL), strictly prohibits attacking individuals who are "out of combat"...
that was wrong and I agree with Kelly's kickback...not going to change my mind on that...
not a cheap publicity stunt...it's the law...
Trump may be next, Americans have made several attempts already, talk about an 'off ramp'.yes next man up...sucks to be him...
I think it is pretty conclusive the Iranians were planning assassinations of Trump. There are a number of bad guys in the world so to speak, but I think Iran may well be the worst of the worst right now.Trump may be next, Americans have made several attempts already, talk about an 'off ramp'.
Iran is certainly 'bad', and now they are angry for vengence, and past caring how they achieve it, more so than ever before.I think it is pretty conclusive the Iranians were planning assassinations of Trump.
