N.F.L. 24-25 Season (1 Viewer)

Terrible, uncompetitive game.

Unwatchable half-time show.

Mediocre (at best) commercials.

Someone owes me four hours of my life back.
The commercials were atrocious as well. Stupid and not funny. I particularly had to grimace when the Hollywood stars pretended to be patriotic and support the first responders etc. Lady Gaga? What hypocrisy. With a couple exceptions like Kevin Costner most of these Hollywood types are US hating radicals. I muted most of them.

Speaking of commercials, how about the one with the entire HS boy's football team couldn't stop the girl in a flag football commercial sponsored by the NFL?

And just like that, KC comes in at #1, with Philly being #4 in ESPN's power rankings for 2025.

How does a young, dominant team like Philly, filled with elite talent, that just annihilated Kansas City, come in #4 while KC is at #1?

Oh right; Mahomes.

The Chiefs moving forward need two tackles, another WR or two, maybe a TE as well.

That said, the AFC is weaksauce, so another trip to the AFCCG at the least is on the table.

A friend of mine told me that when he was watching the half time show he switched channels and the Joker Folie à Deux was on.

He said he watched Joaquin Phoenix singing and “thought this is actually better than the Super Bowl”.

According to some, that halftime show was brilliant and there was a hidden meaning behind the whole thing; those who did not pick up on it are clueless and the typical uneducated American.

Ok then.

The Eagle’s victory is barely a week old and ESPN, NFL Network etc., are already dissecting the upcoming draft.

Clearly 24 hour sports networks need content on an unfathomable level.

Much like news. all about the ratings and the more smack you can talk, the higher it is!

Speaking of ratings, we have a local weather buffoon who called for Armageddon this week....................crickets.............not so says the Nat. Weather Service. Me personally, thinks it should be criminal to cause the hysteria they do..............but I digress.

ON your topic - ESPN is looking for controversy in the draft in order to speculate on who is not resigning, trade, etc. One endless cycle of crap.

Sounds like there is chance that the Rams deal Stafford. A bold move but he is aging and has an enormous contract. Pittsburgh, NYJ, and NYG are mentioned as possibilities. I still doubt it happens, though, because there is no good plan B for the Rams without him. Maybe a high draft pick in a trade but that is a crapshoot at QB. Particularly when a rookie has to take over on day one. The Rams have enough talent to be a contender. That likely doesn't happen with a rookie QB.

No idea what to make of the Samuel trade.

I think he is worth more than a 5th round pick from a playoff team.

I’m sure they tried to shop him and this is probably all they could get, not to mention it was common knowledge that both sides wanted to part ways, which reduces your negotiating leverage.

The Niners went from being one of the best run organizations to one of the worst last season. The hype about Purdy was overstated. The injuries were killers. Samuel was unhappy even when things were going well. For some reason, he didn't want to play there. Not getting much in return once it's clear that a team is ready to move on from such a situation.

I really like the continuous headlines about meaningless off-season signings.

There are about 6 teams that have a legitimate shot at winning it all, the other 26 teams are irrelevant at best.

and now they are buying one of my football teams :(

Agreed and 6 is being generous of you.
The extension signed by Myles Garret proves how meaningless these headlines are.

He ran his mouth saying how all that mattered was playing for a team that could win a championship.

He has no credibility, he demanded a trade based on principle, he said all he cared about was winning, he did not want to be part of a rebuild.

Then he took their $120 mil and any talk of winning a championship faded into dollar signs.

All he was doing was waiting for Max Crosby to set the bar so he could get more money.

The Patriots signed a bunch of guys yesterday I never heard of.

The Steelers traded for the Seattle WR, then gave him 5/250, the Jets gave Fields 2/40, Seattle gave Darnold 3/100 or something like that.

These contracts are insane.

Day two of free agency and the money is flying, must be nice to be an owner and have that kind of scratch.

And I don't know for the most part who any of these guys are.

Great to see the NFL off-season rites of passage continue.

Free agency, draft predictions and of course Patrick Mahomes restructuring his $500mil contract.

Ever year since he signed that deal in 2021 Mahomes has restructured his contract moving massive amounts of money to later years.

The Chiefs are simply circumventing the cap while maximizing a generational talent.

They will be terrible when his true cap impact becomes due, but by them they might have the most Super Bowl wins.

The NFL needs a hard cap if it ever wants to be truly competitive.

Look at the Steelers, that is how they kept Big Ben all those years. He is cashing checks and kissing babies now.....!

Another few days of mega signings, none of which are going to lead to Suoer Bowls.

For example, DeMarcus Lawrence signed with Seattle instead of the Cowboys because he could not win a ring in Dallas.

The only problem is he is not going to win one with the Seattle either.
