Good to hear from you. Been busy as well. Sounds like you found a few Trophy toys to add to your collection - please do tell what you found. Have a great weekend. All the best, Lawrence
It is a mystery. It is part of an armored train. Made out of plywood. I bought it from a guy who I met on e bay. It came with a set of Trophy figures. He says he bought the whole set in the 1980's. Len Taylor says Trophy never made any trains. I think Louis has a similar set. I suspect the train was made for the figures by Hicks Atwell.
    JW,
Have posted some photos in my album of the new mounted Napoleonics. As for the hiding part - only partially kidding :) Don't forget the Boss tomorrow - Valentine's Day!! All the best, Lawrence
    JW,
A little enthusiasm never hurts, but I do know how you can get caught-up in the moment. By the way, I probably used some of the same words when I saw this collection. I have never seen so many dioramas, chariots, elephants etc. of Aeroart and Arsenyev. Thankfully, they were only for show, but sadly he only collects matte, so no Trophy. Speaking of Trophy, I saw the photos and recognized one set :) It is a colorful range and understand why you collect them, but with so many lines and manufacturers, I have to draw the line somewhere - and it just happened to be in the desert.... So, instead I have picked-up some Napoleonics - Trophy and K&C. Stupidity knows no limits..... Well, got to run and hide the new toys from the Boss. Have a great weekend. All the best, Lawrence
    JW,
Well there must be at least one happy camper in Arkansas! Congrats to the Packers. Hope your celebrating did not cause you to lose your voice :) As for the collecting front, things were quiet, but have been crazy the last couple of weeks. Met a collector who had literally hundreds of Aeroart & Arsenyev pieces - was in a state of shock the entire time looking (drooling) at his collection. If you ever come to the East Coast, you have to see his collection - it is simply amazing, a whole different world away from Trophy. Speaking of Trophy, I will be looking forward to your photos on the Trophy thread on Egypt sets. Enjoy the Super Bowl victory! All the best, Lawrence
    JW,
Congrats to the Packers! Rodgers is one tough QB. Just finished another disappointing season. Gave up too much in the first half and some odd calls in the second half. Good thing I have toy soldiers to fall back on. Yes, I live in the Big Apple and operate a restaurant serving Chinese cuisine. It is in mid-town Manhattan and if you ever plan to come by NYC, let me know, dinner is on me. Living in the city has its positive and negative aspects. I am sure the cost of living in Arkansas is much better than here and raising kids there is certainly a different experience than here. For me, it comes down to enjoying what you are doing and making the most of your situation. All too often we suffer from the "grass is greener on the other side" syndrome. By the way, what school are you teaching at? Great subjects to teach :) Fits in nicely with the toy soldiers - tax write-off? :)
    JW,
Yes, it is!! I have already put in a bid, but not going to go crazy. Picked-up a few Napoleonic sets from Trophy - have tried to avoid this line for the longest time, but was made an offer I could not refuse! Business is slow - weather and economy, but we are hoping for our J-E-T-S to beat the Steelers to cheer us up. By the way, what classes do you teach? Hope that global warming stuff hits us soon - it has been a long winter and it is only January. Have a great weekend. All the best, Lawrence
    JW,
Congrat on those new toys!! They are truly spectacular sets - look forward to seeing you put them together in a diorama with the rest of the series. As for the mounted Trophy figure, that is a real old one. Unfortunately, it belongs to my friend Hans and I took a photo of it as I had never seen one before or since. Have a great day!
Hi John: I just looked again at your Trophy collection. You really have quality sets. Do you have a list of the sets of Napolean in Egypt? Have you seen the mummy set by ATS? Best regards, Tommy
    JW,
Thanks so much for identifying all those figures!! You are the Martyn of Russian Figures!! Have a great weekend!
    JW,
Need your help. Do you know who the Union figures are? I think one is Chamberlain, but not sure. Also, any ideas about the Confederate officer? Thanks.
Happy New Year to you, also. Check out MilitaryHeritage.com for repro weapons. They appear to be top notch. Most of my original documents I bought in the 80s & 90s from a dealer by the name of Stephen Resnick in Cazenovia, NY. The others were bought through E-bay. Good hunting!
The Karl Will be arriving US around January 9th, so give it a week or so tiem to reach your dealers. Or, call Hobby Bunker to have Matt reserve you one when it arrives. Happy Holidays! Rick
We do indeed have similar toy soldier interests. Good to have you as a friend.
    Regards
    Damian
    JW,

I thought you had all the NE sets except for NE-12 that you mentioned. I picked this up in England, but unfortunately, a bayonet broke. Glued it back on. As I don't collect this range and I know you do, send me a PM with your address. All the best, Lawrence
