Good to see you spending some time inside and out of the heat Mike. Your collection is impressive and all of the figures work very well together. Your placement reminds me of a cyclorama painting!
I hope to finally build something for myself now that the Miller's cornfield set is coming out...
Hi Scott,
Some of my first metal kits were I&R AWI figures that my uncle gave to me. I remember looking at the catalog of silhouettes to pick kit numbers and poses out. In those days I used Bondo auto spot putty for filling joints and automobile primer for the first coat. Dad always had that in...
Hi All1
I think this new catalog is offering a good mix to the W. Britain AWI range. Some of these figures have been on our list for some time and as mentioned I am looking forward to getting multiples of some of the Grenadiers for my own collection.
I sculpted 23 all new figures for this...
Hi!
I am the sculptor of all of the ACW figures made by W. Britain under 1st Gear ownership. Although Dave and Wendy both paint master figures for this range, on occasion I do too.
I along with Dave and Wendy, use mostly Acrylic colors made by Vallejo and Andrea for my master figures. Both of...
The music in the opening soundtrack is probably one of the best ones from a war film of this vintage... next to the opening track from 'The Battle of Britain'!
Odd that they both are the background sound for visuals that prominently feature JU-52s...

The other set that is a 'must have' for me is the 6th Wisconsin advancing through Miller's cornfield at Antietam. I plan on combining this with other Iron Brigade figures I have to simulate the scope of the painting and diorama at the Wisconsin Veteran's Museum. This will include removing any...
I personally cannot wait to get my hands on 12 each of the kneeling and standing firing figures and an officer for my own collection. I plan on building a small scenic for these with trees, grass and a stone fence.
I thought some of you might enjoy seeing images of the original sculpts before I...
Hello all,
We have been very busy here with research and sculpting for the new W. Britain catalog. For those of you asking there will be a new set in the next catalog for the collectors of the War on the Nile range. There will also be a significant offering for both AWI and ACW. Our own H&A...
hello all!
We recently did a slight modification to one of our Standard Damaged Factories (#2000) by adding some additional small arms impact damage. I noticed a number of these brick buildings were painted white in period photographs so we thought we would paint one this way to show off the...
Thanks for your kind comments!
There are two more scenics that are finished except for some very minor details we decided to add last minute. We need to do a small production run of these added details in the next few days to finish them. We hope to have previews of these very soon too, and...
Thanks Mike!
We have several new products for Twentieth Century warfare and are in the process of updating our website. Ericka and I are finally working on a couple of new ACW period projects that we hope to unveil in the near future... one of which we discussed some time ago. Rich Walker has...
The last few images incorporate our standard damaged factory and two new items,#2033 Damaged Smokestack and #2032 Destroyed Factory Section. The GI is a W. Britain figure I sculpted a few years ago.
#2033 Damaged Smokestack as pictured $145.00 ea.
#2032 Destroyed Factory Section as pictured...
Smokestacks were once hailed as the signs of industrial progress, reaching high above the sooty brick factories. Many crumbled to the impact of shelling and heavy bombardment...
In March and April of 1945 the American First and Ninth Armies crossed the Rhine and pressed into Germany. The area of the Ruhr was heavily industrialized since the mid 19th century, and was one of the important manufacturing areas for Hitler's war machine. The Allied bombing campaign heavily...
Nice job Rod,
The simple environment makes a great stage for the figures, The placement of just a few elements tells a story very effectively.
Looking forward to your next project!
Ken
Thanks for posting this Scott. You know I worked as a clerk in a hobby shop specializing in military models here in Detroit in the early 1970s and I somehow missed that I&R did this figure.
On one hand I am surprised how similar the poses are... but then I am sure we both used the same images...
Great to see some new pictures Mike. I like the way you staged the new figures to tell a story... something you are very good at!
Hopefully we will see some images of Yankees advancing in the near future as you have a few 'reinforcements' coming pretty soon...
All the Best,
Ken
Hello there!
I am the sculptor of the figures in 'The Chosen Ground' and I thought I should mention that all of the figures in set #31051 are exclusive to this set. When we designed this, we also released additional single Iron Brigade soldiers advancing at Right Shoulder to add to the scene if...
