    Facade vs full dimemsion????

Right you are!...and I also have some full-round tee pees that I will use at our next Museum display (hopefully!). These will be then be used as "background" near the edge someplace - to suggest a larger village. So both can work well with each other. As has been said here before, it's like...

    Question on "Terrain"

Hey Ryan, I do that with trees and other stuff that will topple easily. To cover bases, I just sprinkle RR groundwork material on thebase - no glue -and it hides it perfectly.

    How do you display scenes?

I have always had glass-door cabinets, and in my opinion it is the best way to go. Be sure the cabinets are not airtight - so the figures have room to breathe. Some dust will get in, but it's minimal and easily dealt with by brushing with a small paintbrush. Ikea has some very nice and...

    John Jenkins Conquistadores...

Thanks for the post, Mike, and for reminding - at least ME! - that John does other things besides 54mm! These are some great little figures.

    Castings I have painted

Johnny - you are a very talented painter. Love your work. Also, the FFL! Ya gotta love it. It was my boyhood dream to join the FFL and do all the cool things we saw in the movies. I have a FFL display in my cabinet and it is one of my favorites.

    Rorke's Drift Comic Book

Loving this story, Martyn. Cant wait for the next Chapter - kinda like the 1930's Serials.

    Facade vs full dimemsion????

@ thebritfarmer. That's EXACTLY what I was talking about! VERY well done. I have the Durbar also, and am inspired to create some new scenes!! @ Walt - don't you have some pictures of the "picture in front of picture" idea? It's hard to understand in the abstract. And, yes, what a bit of...

    30mm napoleonics

Ray, it's pretty clear from the pictures that you are enjoying yourself! That ALL that is important. Love the new pictures. When properly displayed, our flats really do come alive. It DOES have a nice ring, doesn't it?? :)

Gosh, Igor, I HAVE that figure - and is it a beauty!

    Facade vs full dimemsion????

Thanks, Al. I'm not sayig there is no room for full round backgrounds - only that a combination of facade and full rounds might be a great display and space-saving too! FWIW, I've been thinking of making my own paper cut-outs mounted on foam! There's room for all.

    30mm napoleonics

True, but you can find support at the BFFS. We have members all over the world. We do have a member in Col and WA, so you are not alone! AND we have a good US dealer for unpainted figures. The good news is - painting is still painting regardless of flat or round. Just a few different...

    Facade vs full dimemsion????

Just to further illustrate Walt's point, here's a flat I did of the Baron and his Fokker. Imagine several flat figures like this (plane only) in the correct size sitting in the background for your "real" JJ Fokker. http://www.kitpic.com/is.php?i=38449 Another example is at this TF thread...

    Dragon Gun Boxer ID

A completely WAG is that the maker might be East of India. They do a series on the Boxer Rebellion, and I kinda half remember seeming something like this from them.

    30mm napoleonics

Thanks, Ray. I'll have a look at BZf. I LOVE those buldings!! I agree with thebritfarmer - check out model RR shops for accessories. I'm sure I have seen some paper cobblestone street layouts around my local store. If you want textured cobblestones (not paper), I think you will find them there...

    30mm napoleonics

Great photos, Ray. I love the buildings. Great atmosphere without taking up a lot of space. Are the buildings commercially made, or did you press something else into service here? I'm always interested in great scenery.

    Facade vs full dimemsion????

I like and have both, but I favor the facades (flats) because they give me much more room on my shelves. Some of them are also very interesting sculptures - just by themselves. Castleworld Displays offers some excellent scenery and buidlings if you are interested. Here's the site, but it's not...

    Scale Help for 1:32

Mitch and the others are right - trust your eye. Scale can be measured different ways, so the numbers are not always dependable - a guide at best. Either bring a figure with you when shopping (best way!) or something solid of the same height with the knees, waist and neck indicated...
