Thanks for the comments and thank you Sammy for posting the photos.
I loved making it. You hope when you start a project that it will end up as you imagine and I must admit this one certainly did. i think Andy, at K and C, and I made a good team and it was great for me to be able to discuss...
It was a very difficult secret to keep as I was so pleased how the diorama looked once I had finished it.
You can read the full story in the latest K and C collectors mag but Andy and I started talking about February this year I think (just before the March London show).he had a very good idea...
I have just finished this latest commission. It is a medieval hall designed to display a banquet scene.
The hall is 18" across and about 15" deep and nearly 12" high.
The pillars are resin that I had casts made from a master I made. They represent English cluster pillars. I have had extra ones...
The job is finished now. The waterfall will get more transparent as the resin dries but otherwise it is complete.
The whole thing is 6feet long and 4 feet wide and 12" high. It has been built for a wargamer who will be using 1/56th scale figures on it (just over an inch tall).
My customer runs...
I have been working on the house this weekend and I have finished it. I just had to weather it a little to make it look 'used'. I use my airbrush and spray diluted brown ink on it to add shade, stains and contrast and it also blends all the other colours together. Once that it dry I give it a...
The building is based on this drawing of the George Inn in Somerset in the UK. I don't know if it is still standing but I wouldn't be surprised if it is.
The tiling is very labour intensive. I do use sheets of resin tile but this roof was bigger than the sheets so I had to do it by hand. I...
This is a start of a new thread to cover the building of a 1/30th scale village full of timber framed buildings. The project should will take some time as I will make one building at a time for my customer before we decide on the next one.
The first is a three story house with the ground floor...
That is the back of Winchester Hall which looks like this from the other side-
This is a 1/30th scale piece to display a medieval banquet scene.
I need to fix the pillars in place and add the Windows but otherwise I have just about finished it.
Here it is finished. The green matches the green on the boards. It looks pretty bright in the photos but looks much better in the flesh. It is still brighter than regular green grass but it makes a very good back drop for Wargames figures and the mass formations that are moved about.
This is part of a project I am doing for a wargamer. He has just had a Wargames room and table built and has always wanted the battle of Waterloo to play on so I have been working on the table and Hougoumont.
This piece is a resin set that is commercially available. I have painted it and put it...
This diorama was on show at the London show last weekend and I got a lot of good comments about it.
The figures are all King and Country, the tents, trees and grass are from JG Miniatures and the building is from Figarti. Also, the backdrop is from a model railway shop.
I like doing these sort...
I got some very good advice at the London toy soldier show this weekend from a friend, customer and long time user of this forum that I could only agree with.
So, from now on, I will be posting updates and lots of photos of projects I am working on so be gentle with me:)
The bridge will cost £1000 + shipping.
We have no plans to sell it as a kit as it hasnt been designed to be built with instructions. The laser cutter developed it as he went and I think only he can build it.
There is no reason why the side building can not be sold separately. I can work a price...
I really enjoyed making this building as I dont think I have ever built anything with so much roof in relation to the walls.
It is great to see it with figures. I expect to see photos of the whole finished diorama shortly:)
