Hullo There,

Just recently Helen, K&C’s Managing Director, asked me to make a small diorama/display piece for a special promotion in our K&C store in Pacific Place, Hong Kong.

What I came up with was a simple little “Country Road” scene somewhere in France or Belgium. I wanted something that could be utilized by a vehicle or two or, perhaps, a small group of figures…Even a combination of both.

Here are some of the results…enjoy! All the best,

Gordon C.

yes...it is simple...and it is little...

but it's beautiful!!!

and versatile enough with that "timeless road" that it could be anywhere in the world...

such a nice job!!!

Gordon,

yet another one of your masterpieces, and featuring 2 of my collecting themes.

1. Artillery, showing the new 25 Pounder QF Field gun and QUAD

2. Napoleonic Infantry.

Well Done, and keep up the great work,

John

PS I'll let Wayne comment about the other set !!!

Gordon,

It would be great if you showed us in the "Diorama - How to" section of this forum the steps you took in making this splendid backdrop. It is definitely a piece of art that will definitely help promote the K&C line. :salute::

Hullo There,

Many thanks to all of you who have posted the kind and appreciative comments on this little dio…

Much as I enjoy working on the bigger displays the smaller ones can often provide equal fun and offer multiple possibilities for utilizing different ranges of figures.

As for hiding the bases…why? Small dios like this allow collectors to change and alter their scenes when and where they want. I can understand the point of hiding a base if the dio is one that will never be changed however the vast majority of my displays are meant to be “played with” and altered by the owner as he or she sees fit.

By the by, who or what are the “Grammer Police” … the “Base Police” or indeed the “Dio Police”…? Please enlighten me. Thanks in advance and all the best.

Not sure who the “Grammer Police”… the “Base Police” or indeed the “Dio Police” might be but
perhaps they are buddies with the "Scale Police".

Gordon

I think the "Grammer Police, Base Police and Dio Police" comment can be ignored, some choose to contribute in a positive manner to the forum whilst a very small number of people use the forum as a vehicle to repeat the same thing over and over and over again; a bit like the Australian Cricket team. Every batsman walks out to the crease and repeats the same thing over and over again ie does not contribute to the team!

Great dio's.

Cheers Scott

I've always liked scenes that are smaller that use just a few soldiers so they can be appreciated more. This is a great little dio that shows just how versatile it is, as it can be used for many different eras. A simple road out in the country... what could be better. Well done. {bravo}}

Gordon always makes such splendid and versatile dioramas and I always enjoy viewing them. I especially like seeing the mix of old and new pieces being used together to create new scenes.
