Hi Guys,
Greetings from the “Pearl of the Orient”.

As some of you may know Gordon has moved into an all-new, custom-built workshop here on Hong Kong Island that has, among its many advantages, a 450 square foot terrace that allows us to “shoot” our diorama displays using natural light.

So, this afternoon we did our first little test on two small dioramas. Both dioramas are special Christmas gifts for one of our collector’s young sons.

I love the interplay of natural sunlight and shadows… Hope you do too!

All the best and happy collecting!

Andy C.

I reckon it would be awesome kicking back on the terrace and taking snaps of dio's while having a tinny or three....{sm3}

Two terrific dio's from Gordon there, thanks for posting Andy.

That's unfortunate - they are exactly like two that I am working on!

Very nice dios Andy. As I always say "small is beautiful"!!!!!!! Congrats to Gordon
guy:)

I like the ducks. Especially roasted ducks. ^&grin -- Al

Andy, congratulations on getting the "kids out of the house" so to speak. ;) Only problem for you is now you can't keep tabs on Gordon 24/7......whatever will you do? :p In all seriousness those are some fine dioramas. My favourite is the French one. Its nice to see them as I believe they are very underated pieces and overlooked by many collectors. I think the Grey Opel wins the award for the number of times a non-released piece to be showcased in a diorama! {sm3}

Great looking set ups.I agree you can't beat using natural light when taking do pics. Very nice.

Nice dio's. I also like the French variants of the armoured car and tank destroyer and glad I got them before they were discontinued. A different slant made them quite interesting

Two great looking dios Andy and Gordon. Nice use of light. Looks excellent. Andy, thanks for posting.

Hullo There,

Many thanks for your kind comments about the little garage dios… Although it’s great fun (and a big challenge) making the bigger dioramas I, like our friend Guy, love making small ones…

It can sometimes be even more of a challenge trying to tell a big story in a little space! However large or small it’s great fun and it’s always nice to share your work with others.

Thanks again guys,

Gordon C. Neilson

Thank you Andy and Gordon for sharing these great images of more of Gordon's fantastic creations. What great gifts they will make!{eek3} Congratulations to you Gordon on your new custom built workshop with photo shoot terrace (the scenes look very nice bathed in natural light/shadow). I'm looking forward to seeing you and the team at the Westcoaster. I'm hoping your diorama book will your diorama book be ready by then. I keep wondering which 50 dioramas will be featured in the book. I hope there's an "honorable mention" chapter as well for all the dioramas that somehow didn't make the top 50. Wonderful work!:smile2:

Gordon, I am hoping one day soon I will be able to pick up one of your diorama creations at one of the shows.
It would definately be a welcome addition. ^&grin
