13th Alabama In Action! (2 Viewers)

Here is a photo of my Great Great Grandfather & Grandmother William Harvery & Delia Adelaide Cartwright. William enlisted in the Union Army in April 1861 and was in Company H, 18th Ohio Volumteer Infantry Regiment. He was 19 at the time of his enlistment. He died in 1929. Of all my ancesters that fought in the ACW, William is the only one for which I have a photo of . . . . he's also the only one in my family tree that wore the blue uniform . . . . . Although this photo was taken long after the war was over, Grandpa still sports the "facial hair" style that was so popular during that conflict . . . .

Wonderful Mike!!!!! Must have been something living in that family where some fought for both South and North.

I really like that fence section. I looked at it on his site and it looks a little too large for Britain figures, but looks just right for the FL ones.

I have both WB and FL ACW figures and they are all the same size and blend in beautifully with each other. Ken Osen sculpted the fence to go with the ACW figures he sculpts for WB. I use these fence sections all the time in my dios and they certainly are not to large for either company's figures . . .

Oh okay. Thanks Mike! I thought FL's figures were larger than Britains. Guess I will found out when my figures arrive soon.

Very nicely staged, photograph and a nicely told tale Brad. Thank you good sir for sharing it with us..........Joe

I've gotta agree with my good friend Joe {bravo}}

Cheers

Martyn:)

Gebhard, Mike and Martyn,

Thanks. I enjoyed setting them up :smile2:

Gebs, any chance they might distract you from Napoleonics ^&grin

Cheers,

Brad

Great Pics, Brad!!. I always buy the Standard Bearer First(I will Get it Thursday), And Go from There, On how Far I am going to go with It. Your Pictures, Helped to make a fast decision. Pretty Deep!!.
The Napoleonic Will Always come first. But this will Challenge That. There is not one piece That I do not like, in the 13Th.

Brad, your great shots show just how good these latest ACW figures from FL are, especially the facial details. Have just received 4 x 55th NC Infantry figures and they are really something, espcially the 2 'rebel yell' blokes. Don't know about the Yankees but they scare the beegees out of me!

Very nice dio. As nice as these figures are, looking so realistic, your dio makes you feel as though you are actually there.
I also collect the range. Hoping the drummer is in the mailbox when I return home from work today. Hoping to add the Buford Cavalary two soldier vignette soon.

Roger and Spudee,

Thanks for your nice words but the figures sell themselves. Here's a little dio I did earlier this year, http://www.treefrogtreasures.com/forum/showthread.php?37008-Death-in-the-Afternoon

Spudee, regarding the 55th NC did you get the flag bearer yet. That is one of my favorite figures. No one has done a better flag. The way it waves in the breeze is just amazing.

Brad

I am just glad that you tried out First Legion, Brad. Since, The First Napoleonic Piece. I have been Hooked. And Has Bought, Strickly Just Their Pieces.
And I will Get The 55th NC Flag Bearer, Too. And Try that side. Thanks for pointing it out.

As has already been pointed out, Ken Osen, who has sculpted numerous Britains figures, is the designer of this superb terrain item, so it is not too large for Britains figures.

I've sold a few of them myself off of my show tables from my displays and it looks fine with any and all ACW figures no matter the manfucturer.

G'day Brad,

Yes, the beautiful little flag-bearer was one of the first 3 I purchased. As you say, the flag looks so good you can almost hear it flapping!

Jake,

Thanks. All of the FL figures are fantastic. I'm planning on buying another 7 or 8 next month.

Lighting is very important for these scenes. I now take all my photos outside in the natural light. Makes them look very good. When I do it inside they just come out too dark. Could be a challenge in the winter months though.

Well, the main thing is that you like them when you look at them in your home..The photos are a very secondary stuff, no?

Good pics of some great figs Brad. My first 4 figs from this series are due to arrive today. :smile2: THey will fill out the WB ranks already in place. Will be using them to depict 7th TN versus 2nd Wisc in a dio I am working. Chris

Hi Brad ,
In a perferct world I would have unlimited space and funds to fill that space but with already collecting FL's , Napoleonics , Stalingrad , Crusaders , Rome and a few of the Landesknechte and soon to be 7YW :redface2: I have had to make some hard choices and AWI , and ACW didn't make it I still think I will get the drummers and Flag bearers , and then theres that GREAT looking Major of the 13th .. Its a shame I didn't hit the PowerBall last night problem solved :wink2: . Cheers Gebhard
