When I read Steve’s post that started it all, I did not come away from it with the thought that it was a negative post. In fact, my feel was that it was an overall positive product review.

Many of us look forward to Steven’s post on reviews and show reports as meaningful and insightful. For Steven to state that he examined the Stug in detail and then bought one has to be the sincerest form of a complement. People can verbally praise or criticize all they want but when it comes down to it, we vote with our pocketbook. Steve’s post was reassuring to me as I had purchased both of the FL Stugs and am eagerly awaiting their arrival.

Steve has also stated that his comments about the stretched appearance of the WWII figures was just his opinion. I respect that however I don’t personally see it. I bought the complete first run of the FL Stalingrad figures and have them all on display. As I usually do when want to create a diorama, I set the figures up close to my easy chair within an arm’s reach in a rough diorama setting. Each day when I get my few moments to relax, I examine and sometimes adjust placement of the figures as a sort of diorama brainstorming. As I went through these arrangements, I kept thinking about how realistic and well proportioned these figures appear especially in a diorama setting. Any manipulation to shorten the length of the legs would only distract from the realism of these figures. In my opinion these are the best sculpted and realistically proportioned figures I own so please Matt, don’t change a thing.

Also to Ken Osen’s enlightening post - Spoken like the true master craftsman that you are!

Semper Fi!
Rick

I haven't heard any negative comments about the proportions of the FL figure I "inserted" into this picture ;):D

To be honest, I only saw the FL figure now that you mention it!

So it must fit in very well scale-wise to the StuG and the other figures ;-).

Very interesting indeed...

Would anyway be more than surprised if there was anything with these fine figures!!

That's because it was so skillfully done, the inserted figure looks real.:D:D

Someone must have the stug and the FL figures and can post a picture?

Terry

Just for the record, as we've discussed before, the tan isn't really a desert scheme. It's a tan color that was in use for a short period, but isn't the same as a desert scheme which would be lighter.
I hope everyone noticed I always referred to it as the "tan" Stug.:D

That is very clever and artful of you Frank; I honestly glossed over the photo at first thinking it was all real.;):D

I certainly agree that FL excels in proportion from all the Napoleonic ones I have.
I agree that the FL Napoleonics have good proportions, which is why I started collecting them, though I don't have as many as you.;)

The thing is I don't have nearly as many as I want yet.;):D All in good time I hope.

Thanks Paul, I hope to make there.....Best regards Frank

A particular heartfelt "Thank You" to Ken, Frank and Terry to turn this thread into a document worth reading and preserving. Thanks to Steven for initiating the discussion.

That kind of depends whether you are talking about RAL8000 or RAL8020. I'll have to wait to see the actual piece before I can really say. I think a lot of the perceptions in regards to the lightness of DAK camo has to do with dust and fading.

The 2 Stugs plus 15 other sets arrived today and without going too much into detail -not enough time- I just wanted to say that for me this is the best piece on the market today: unmatched level of detail, unmatched painting..ultralight and ultrarealistic!

These factory-made pieces are at the level of a top diorama-builder/modeller who wins prizes at modelling fares/expositions!

Guys, can only highly recommend.

The upcoming running Germans are sublime as well...

So FL did in my world a big homerun withe the Stugs.

If I have time over the week-end I might take photos and put them up or if not anyone interested can pm me and I will provide photos.

And finally I do absolutely not share Steven's comments on the tank crew! Whilst a bit taller than the first releases-as indicated by Matt himself-they are very well proportionned (don't look at the belt, but look at their bum!).

Steve,

Although I saw it in Chicago, many others have not and I think it's always good when collectors put up photos of their collections, particularly of something you obviously love, so please post photos when you have the opportunity.

Great news for you Steve. I am with Jazzeum, photos of the production run are always appreciated...when you get a chance.

Ok guys got you.

Am off to Germany the whole day today but I promise to put something under Frank's threat tomorrow pm my time.

Don't expect the same professional set up than from Frank though, but it will hopefully give you an idea why I LOVE FL!

Why does Steven Chong not precede me today wuth posting figures of his? Come on Steven, bring them on ;-)

Well how many out there have bought one of these great looking tanks .I have not seen one in person but love the idea of this series.I hope the weight factor has not put alot of people off as resin is a great thing to make things out of.You can get alto more detail with resin then Polly so this will excite the guys who are ribbit counters. To much for me though Simmo.
