While 1863 was a watershed year for the American Civil War thanks to the Union victories at Gettsyburg and Vicksburg, it should be remembered only sixty days before Gettysburg the Confederacy had scored a smashing victory against a Union Army led by “Fighting Joe” Hooker at Chancellorsville. This important battle is commemorated by our new Hooker figure and a vignette of the famous last meeting of Confederate Generals Lee, Jackson and Stuart before the battle began.

With Union General O.O. Howards arrival on the field at Gettsyburg on July 1, 1863, the senior commander up to that time, General Abner Doubleday, was moved over to command the Union forces facing Confederate General Heth. Later that day Army of the Potomac Commander General George Meade arrived, assuming overall command of Union forces and confirming the opinion of his most trusted commanders that this was indeed ground worth holding! July 1st had not been a good day for the Union forces and one can only imagine what sort of conversation might be transpiring between Meade, Howard and Doubleday in our newest set?

And what would have happened on the July 2, had Union General G.K Warren not furiously signaled for urgent reinforcements to come to the little hill (Little Round Top)? Or if Sickles had not moved his troops out in front of the Union lines? Decide for yourself using our new leaders, signalman and boulder set that having a striking resemblance to those at Devils Den and Little Round Top.

Great looking combinations. I see quite a few dios coming out of these. Like the Howard fig. Chris

Great offerrings for sure Richard. I can see now that I will have a good time soending my $$$ and using my CC on WB ACW offerings in 2013 . . .

Richard-
A sincere congratulations on being the first major manufacturer to release authentic ACW Confederate command figures. As I pointed out in a thread about Gen. Fremantle's memoirs, Lee wore no sword, many of them drew in the dirt with sticks, and they all kind of squatted around, looking at the ground. These were not illustrious picture-perfect social gatherings. Your release portrays this well.
A couple of other notes:
The figures are getting better. The shading is becoming very good, and if it gets any better, it will rival FL. The faces are much better than usual, and they really look authentic- on par with the best. The price is spot-on too{sm4}!
Does the farmhouse have an interior? Can we get pictures? Sadly, I cannot buy it-it doesn't work with anything I have. I had purchased the last one, bu had to sell it because I could not use it and I needed the money for more figures. I may buy the accessories, though.
Also, is the WWI sign a real full-sized sign, or is it scale? How does it fit onto the trench sections?
All the best,
Sandor :salute::

P.S. Please release the dog in the WWII series as a separate piece :wink2:{sm4}.

Going to be a busy year for you Mike and other ACW collectors :D

Good guess on your part Scott, although it looks like nothing was spared for you AZW collectors. By the way, it appears that all of the upcoming WB releases have been posted on Treefrog's store site. Time to pre-order . . . .
:smile2: Mike

Wow...these are amazing figures Richard! I cannot wait to get my hands on each of these sets. You guys make the best ACW personalities around!!! ^&grin

I hope you like what we have released so far ... there is more coming throughout the year with many new figures already finished. I thought you might like to see a few more images of Jeb Stuart, this is the sculpt right after I finished it.

Ahhhh!!!!
Just saw all the pictures of the upcoming ACW figures on the Tree Frog site! I am not going to be able to get ANY sleep tonight!!!!

P.S. I know...I'm a little too excited I guess. haha!

When I was in Gettysburg in October I said to my wife I wish Britain's would make Meade's headquarters. I do see one error though, no little light switch by the window so you can see inside :)

That's great.I'm so glad you got what you wanted.I don't collect ACW anymore but I started collecting the 54mm's when I saw Conte's Don Troiani series. At one time I had them all.Bet you can't guess who sculpted them?:wink2:I wish Britains would do more of these kind of sets based on paintings but in different periods.(especially F&IW^&grin).

I would bet that is something that is on their mind... ;)

My compliments sirs these 30 or so new ACW releases are most impressive. The sculpts, poses, paints of these figures really are first class and "Praise the lord and pass the ammunition" not one single "pointing" celebrity figure. I can certainly live with Doubleday pointing/referring to Meades map. That alone will save me committing any of them to a field hospital to amputate their pointing digits. Only just this week I have sent the figure of Sam Hood to a Reb surgeon to have his annoying extended right arm tucked into his belt. ^&grin

The seated Meade is a dream figure for me Ken- as a keen ACW collector there have never been to my knowledge any ACW officer figures manufactured in a sitting pose (stand fast the Massaponax Church Frontline set of Grant and his staff-but I never have collected Frontline ACW figures). Further downstream Ken a couple more figures in such sitting poses as Hood & Longstreet on the second day at Gettysburg sitting on a dead tree trunk awaiting Lee's orders or Grant sitting in his canvas fold up chair whittling a piece of wood would be most welcome.

However, referring to my pre-order list it looks very much like both of you have possibly put my good lady's Mediterranean summer cruise in jeopardy :wink2:

Thanks so much for your kind comments.
We have worked hard to close gaps and add figures to tell stories in our Civil War series.
As mentioned elsewhere the other branches of service will have significant additions before the year is out too, including a very impressive piece I think everyone who is a serious ACW collector will want.
As far as general officer's poses, I thought that a seated figure or two would be a nice departure from the usual offerings and there will be others in the near future. The small scenic accessories were fun to do and we will try to do more of that from time to time also.
Here is a front and back picture of the Joe Hooker paint master right after Chip finished it.
