2014 OTSN - Pat's Pictorial Parade (3 Viewers)

Gentle Friends,

My tour of Norm's room ends with this post. I hope you have enjoy it.

Photo 115 - The photo below Norm with his beautiful wife, Kaye. The two of them are a packaged pair and both work hard at the show. They are some of the nicest people you could ever hope to meet.

Photo 117 - What a beautiful tractor shed! It, too, is produced by JG Miniatures.

Photo 118 - If you collect figures of the American Plains Indians, you might want to add this nice Teepee to your collection.

Well, that's all for tonight. If my time permits, I will try to post more photos tomorrow.

Peace to all and to all a good night!

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

Thanks Pat. Great pics. You covered what others didn't and gave us more variety to look at.

Superb pictures Pat :salute::

All the best

Martyn:)

Wonderful coverage so far Pat. Can I ask is the pigeon wagon a general release and if so do you know when it will be released?

Scott,

Yes, it will be a general release. When, I don't know as I don't see it listed on the JJD site yet.

Gentle Friends,

If you read my last post, you know I was in Norm Rodriguez's room which was dominated by pre-owned Hocker sets. Seeing so many terrific Hocker sets in one place produced for me a Hocker high. I was giddy from all the bright, colorful, and glossy stimulation. I needed time to come down from my Hocker high, so I left Norm's room in the hope I could calm all my senses. I wondered the floor for sometime and then I spotted an open door. I went in the room to discover I had entered Mr. Hocker's room! My Hocker high became elevated! Nevertheless, I managed to take a few photographs of the merchandise he had for sale.

I should also add that Mr. Hocker did not bring as much stock to the show as he has in the past. I do not know why that is the case, but there was still much from which to choose. He only brought sets number 400 and above. If you wanted earlier released figures, you needed to search Norm's room.

Below you should find a few photos of the shiny figures that were available.

Photo 119 - Three sets from the American West line. I have an interest in figures of the West, so, naturally, my giddiness increased! ^&grin

Photo 120 - Several more nice boxed sets.
14otsn120 (2) (1280x960).jpg

Photo 121 - How about these guys?
14otsn121 (2) (1280x960).jpg

Photo 122 - Boxer Rebellion sets.
14otsn122 (2) (1280x960).jpg

Photo 123 - More Boxer Rebellion figures. Is anyone interested in this line yet? :rolleyes2:
14otsn123 (2) (1280x960).jpg

Give me a few more minutes. I am not finished posting photos taken in Mr. Hocker's room. I will be right back with more photos.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

Gentle Friends,

More stimulation from Mr. Hocker's room.

Photo 124 - Even more Boxer Rebellion figures.
14otsn124 (2) (1280x960).jpg

Photo 125 - This was a remarkable new piece. It is a WWI German Howitzer. It actually fires the shells you see on the right hand side of the photo. And, Mr. Hocker demonstrated the gun for me. I could not believe the range this miniature gun possessed. It fired those shells completely across the room! One of the things I love about Mr. Hocker's work is the vintage toy like properties he builds into some of his work.
14otsn125 (2) (1280x960).jpg

Photo 127 - I believe the figures whose backs are turned to you is a new set. If my memory serves me correctly, they are WWI Australian troops charging the enemy.
14otsn127 (2) (1280x960).jpg

Photo 128 - Another view of the Aussie figures.
14otsn128 (2) (1280x960).jpg

Photo 129 - More figures from his WWI line.
14otsn129 (2) (1280x960).jpg

Please wait one more minute. I have one last set of photos to post from Mr. Hocker's room.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

Gentle Friends,

My senses were being taxed to the max, so I took these last few photos and beat a path to another location that provide that calming effect for which I was searching. I hope you enjoyed your visit to Mr. Hocker's room. I know I did.

Photo 130 - More WWI figures. Aren't they nice?
14otsn130 (2) (1280x960).jpg

Photo 131 - From his line of the Poncho Villa Expedition.
14otsn131 (2) (1280x960).jpg

Photo 132 - More figures from his Poncho Villa Expedition line. I love the Mariachi band.
14otsn132 (2) (1280x960).jpg

Photo 133 - And, finally, a photo of Mr. Hocker in conversation with another collector. If you have never met Mr. Hocker, I hope you have the opportunity to do so one day. He is quiet spoken, but friendly. He is attentive, but not overpowering. He is extremely intelligent, but he puts you at ease. He is an extraordinary man.
14otsn133 (2) (1280x960).jpg

That's all for tonight, folks. If I have the chance, I will post some more photos tomorrow.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

Thanks Pat, your wonderful pictures and thoughtful insight is truly amazing. Thank you for taking the time to both post the pictures and describe the circumstance, it is inspiring.

Hi Pat,

Fantastic review of all the different sets and manufacturers at the event.
Could not have imagined how dynamic the event is/was if it were not for your detailed review:salute:::salute::

I got extremely interested in the German Howitzer how can we get in contact with Mr.Hocker and assess how can I lay my hands on one?

Cheers

Hi AC,

I am glad Scott provided you with the address of Mr. Hocker's website. When you visit his website, take a close look at the other sets included in his Great War series. Two other sets have neat vehicles that might interest you. So far, I have managed to resist the temptation of collecting his Great War figures, but it may simply be a question of time before I cave. ^&grin

Let us know if you obtain the Howitzer and, if so, provide us with some more photos.

Good luck!

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

Thanks both Scott and Pat...will do so.....first need to plan it out....get the CEOs approval at home is a different story:cool::cool::cool:

Hi AC,

You might remember that Mr. Hocker has to prepare the set for you. In other words, there will be a wait time between when you order it and when you receive it. The wait time can take several weeks or, in many cases, a couple months. He does not carry an extensive stock. When you place your order, he will send you a note indicating the item is back ordered. He will also supply you with an estimated delivery date, but do not be surprised if he is later finishing the item that he anticipates. With Mr. Hocker, you simply have to be patient, but the wait is worth it.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

Dear Pat,

Thanks for the heads up! I will sure take that in consideration. I personally like that for it shows that there is personal involvement and attention to details etc....and if possible even some leaverage for slight changes may be to the sets such as a specific Regimental insignia?
Cheers
