2017 Baseball Season: Let's Play Two! (2 Viewers)

In other scandal news, Craig Carton, who is a co-host of a very popular sports radio show on WFAN in NY with Boomer Esiason (Boomer and Carton), has been arrested by the FBI for allegedly running a fake ticket scam, bilking investors out of millions of dollars.

Well, it's never dull around here.

Must be something in the New York water:rolleyes2:

Well, it's not a common occurrence like some things to be in Boston :rolleyes2:

John Heyman today advocated that the Red Sox should forfeit all of their wins vs the MFY's this year.

This is the same guy who is upset that the famous shot heard round the world was the result of a stolen sign, ie, the batter knew what pitch was coming.

In other news, Heyman shook his fist at a cloud and told everyone to get off his lawn.

When Pablo Sandoval was released by the Red Sox he blamed his poor performance on many things, including the Red Sox organization.

I am here to resolve the Red Sox of any guilt they might be feeling. Sandoval has been terrible since rejoining the Giants and is currently on a 0-for-37 streak that ties the franchise record set by Johnnie LeMaster in 1984.

That's absurd. Sign stealing is a long honored tradition in baseball. All they did was update the technology. I heard somebody say today that the wondrous thing was that they got an Apple Watch to work!

Well I'm also reading that the Red Sox have video evidence of the Yanks up to no good on sign stealing, so I say both teams forfeit all their wins and the East goes to the O's ^&grin^&grin^&grin^&grin

Now that's a disciplinary action I could get behind.:wink2:^&grin -- Al

The Red Sox are being accused by the Yankees of stealing signs, not the old fashioned way, but with Apple Watches. MLB investigators have corroborated the Yankees' claims but it's yet to be determined what penalties the Commissioner may impose.

Must be something in the Massachusetts water :rolleyes2:

Am I the only one who thinks this investigation is ridiculous? All teams steal signs, it's part of the game. All this conspiracy garbage needs to go away. As a Yankee fan I despise the Red Sox, but I want to beat them on the field, without any help from the commissioner.

No, you are not the only one. Part of the game. Heck, Ralph Branca went to his grave believing Bobby Thompson knew what pitch was coming and all that means is that incident is one of the best known stories in baseball history, but it changed nothing. -- Al

Nats just completed their second 3-game sweep of Miami in the last 10 games thus moving their magic number to 6. Nats pitchers once again handled Stanton. He is 2 for 20 (both hits were solo Hr's) in the last 6 games against the Nats. With a 10 game homestand up next, maybe the Nats can clinch the division title in front of the home fans, which they last did in 2012. -- Al

Dodgers look to be in free fall right now. Things get a little easier as they're playing the Rockies tonight and the Giants next week. However, when you're going the way they are, every team looks like the 27 Yankees. They need a day off in the worst way.

Just saw that Gene "Stick" Michael passed away. RIP. He was a very effective ball player but a great GM. He assembled the Yankee dynasty of the late 90s. He should be given plaudits just for working with Steinbrenner.

O's needed a big effort from Gausman today and didn't get it. He self-destructed and once again the O's are in a huge hole, trailing NYY 7-0 in the 4th. Going to take some doing to dig out of this one. It just seems the O's are always having to come from behind and not by a run or two, always seems to be 4 or more runs. Sure is aggravating. -- Al

Tough day for Al and Sammy.

When I look at the remaining schedules for the Twins, Angels and Os, the Twins seem to have the easier schedule, followed by Angels and Os, whose remaining schedule is very tough.

Hit the nail on the head, Brad. O's toughest stretch is next, a 10 game road trip against Cleveland, Toronto, and the NYY's again. This is the make or break stretch for the O's and .500 probably won't cut it. Sure wish they had another SP option outside of Tillman. He has been a disaster this year with one (1) win in 18 starts. Must be some kind of O's record for futility. -- Al

Nats beat Philly tonight and thanks to a walk-off win by Atlanta over Miami, the Nats magic number has been reduced to 4. -- Al

What has happened to the Dodgers? They are in the process of losing the 12th out of their last 13 games. -- Al

Once you get into a pattern like this, it's not easy to get out of. McCarver used to say "hitting is contagious." Losing games is contagious too. Once they win a game they will breathe a sigh of relief. Right now it feels like they'll never get another one.
