2017 Baseball Season: Let's Play Two! (1 Viewer)

Os were the only team in the top 4 that gained last night as Angels blew a golden opportunity.

Last night's Giants game pretty much summed up my season with them:

They were leading the Cardinals 6-4 in the 7th inning. I ran out to grab a bite and when I came back the game was over. The Giants lost 11-6.

Red Sox bounce back with a 4-1 win off of Gray, Fister has been lights out the past four starts, what a great pick up by Dombrowski. Nunez, another great pick up by Dombrowski, hit yet another home run as did Ramirez and the kid in left, his was a rocket to right that sailed over the Judge's chamber. Reed was once again lights out in the eight inning, they finally got the bridge to Kimbrel, another great pick up by Dombrowski.

Was concerned the Sox did not do enough at the deadline as the MFY's made all sorts of noise with their blockbuster trade with the White Sox and the pick up of Gray, but it looks like the Red Sox did better at the deadline than the MFY's, who lost yet another game in the standings to the LET'S GO O'S!! who won 1-0, thought that was a misprint as they usually win 10-0 ,or 11-10, or 110-109, not 1-0.

Again, great bounce back win after once again being baffled by fatso and his 80MPH junk that he now throws; imagine he's 4-0 vs the Sox this year. Heard him whining after the game about Nunez bunting on him to lead off the game; really fatso, you're out there on one leg, I'd bunt every time off you and make you field your position you slob, have a salad why don't you?

If there is a God in heaven, I won't see him pitch against the Sox again this year, or forever for that matter; his contract is up after this year, go retire to a fat farm fatso.....................................

Gausman has had a pretty good second half of the season. Chris
Very true. He has had 11 starts since the break and 7 of them have been QS, including 4 starts where he allowed 0 runs and 2 other starts with 1 run allowed. Very impressive but I keep wondering why it takes him over half a season to get going as it has the last 2 years. He is 5-2 with a 3.8+ ERA in the 11 starts since the break, compared to 5-7 in the 18 starts with a 5.61 ERA prior to the break. He is a true puzzle. -- Al

Once again my beloved O's live up to their standards in 2017...:mad: take on 2 of the better teams in the league last week (Boston, Seattle) and win both series, make good moves in getting back within 1 game of WC, but as always just as I think they got their head on strait and have put things together they pull a disappearing act once again by playing like crap, other then the 1-0 marathon win last night the mighty last place Blue Jays are taking the O's to the wood shed in the other 2 games, (5-0 Jays in 7th now) just can't figure this team out??? better pull it together by Sunday or things in the WC chase can turn real ugly real quick for the O's.

So true, their inconsistency has me chewing nails most nights. Even Miley was decent again, but no runs makes it hard to win. -- Al

The Angels pulled out one of their miracle wins tonight: down by 2 with 2 out in the 9th, they came back to win the game in the 10th, their 40th come from behind win.

The Wild-Card race has become captivating, not just because it is close but because there are so many teams involved that seem to have a "never say die" attitude.

O's pulled out another gut win today, I'll take it, 1.5 out of 2nd WC and depending on Sox/Yanks tonight to see if any movement was made there on the 1st WC, speaking of the evil Yanks, they come to Camden Yards next for a 3 game series, to say this is one of the biggest series of the year is an understatement, hopefully the birds will be up for this series and play some good ball all around, Bundy starts off on Monday coming off his 1 hitter, man this stuff gets better by the day!!:)

P.S. who ya pulling for George in this series??

Yep, a good day for the O's as the Angels and Twins both took a loss. 1.5 games ain't nothin' but a burp and a tickle form the WC.:wink2: -- Al

A meteor strike.

On a serious note; I've got Patriots tickets to opening night Thursday, then off to VA on Friday for a show Saturday, then the following week will be nuts as I prep for the big Chicago show, then the show itself the following week, so to be honest, as I told Brad tonight, time to turn the page and focus on other things.

The Red Sox are not going anywhere even if they manage to hold on and win the AL East, they are anemic offensively and that won't get it done in the playoffs, the offenses the MFY's, Indians, Astros and LET'S GO O'S!! all have are superior to the Red Sox.

The Red Sox got Blitzkrieged this series, outscored 22-9 over 4 games, scoring a whopping 2, 6, 1 and 1 run respectively, losing to the corpses of Sherman Klump and Tanaka in the process.

Nope, they're not going anywhere.

All of that said, I'm still rooting for a meteor strike.

I really think this series decides it for the O's. Need a good first game in the series. A lot resting on Bundy's arm. Chris

With 25 games to go, I'm not sure if that's the case unless one team gets swept, although that's a possibility with the way the Yankees seem to be playing right now. There are too many teams still in the mix. Although the Angels may be nipping at the Twins' heels, the old Satchel Paige expression comes to mind as Seattle, Texas and KC are right behind them.

By the end of this week we should have a better picture....or not!

The most anticipated occurrence for Mets fans these is the release of the medical report. The highlights of today's report is that David Wright has to have surgery. Unfortunately, his career is ending like Mattingly's did. The bright spot is that Syndergaard is making a rehab start. Hopefully, he can make a start or two for the Mets before the season is over.

O's lost a badly needed game to NYY today. Bundy was cruising then just lost it. Bad loss but we can still take the next 2 games and gain ground, but we really do need to win those 2 games. -- Al

Great :mad: just got home after "laboring" all day to find the O'd blew the 1st game, better get it together for the next two, I have a big Mac, large fry, and Coke Cola riding on this series and I be dammed if I'm losing out on a free meal!! come on O's!!!!!

About 2 dozen games left and there are still 7 teams within 3 games of each other in the AL WC race. None of these teams seem to be able put together a run. A 3 game stretch and the whole thing turns around. And to top it off, the AL East title is one of only two races left. Where's my pepto... -- Al
