2017 Baseball Season: Let's Play Two! (2 Viewers)

It's a heck of an upgrade. He has the right to get out of his contract at the end of the season. He had told the Tigers he was going to exercise that right because they're in rebuilding mode. Hopefully, he'll want to stay with LA.

O's tied for 1st in team HRs with A Jones 26th HR tonight, their 204th. And it's only 1st inning. :smile2:
O's have 4th fewest starting pitchers with 9. That's quite the surprise. Chris

Now leading AL with 205.

Twins won again. If the Yankees lose, they will be tied.
Don't know how the Twins are doing it. They started to dismantle and then suddenly got better. They sent their closer, Kintzler, to the Nats. Go figure. -- Al

One thing I have always liked about Arte Moreno is that he isn't afraid to spend cash on players and upgrades.

The 2 O's Hr's in this game gives them 57 for August, a new MLB record. The old record was 55, also held by the O's, and set last season. Bang, zoom, and another ball disappears into the twilight at the Yards. -- Al

Toronto can't score worth a darn, so naturally they hang 11 on the O's and win 11-8. Oh well, O's will just have to start a new winning streak next game. -- Al

Verlander to the Astros..... Gonna be tough to beat with him in that rotation.

Philips and Upton fill gaps and make their line-up even more dangerous, but what are the Angels going to do about their starting pitching? The playoffs are all about the pitching. -- Al

They have to get there first!

Their pitching isn't great although Bridwell has been pretty decent and Heaney is getting better each outing since returning. Nolasco has been decent lately. After that????? Bullpen is spotty.

So, yes, you're right. If they get in they might bear the other WC but the Astros will be hard.

Didn't mean to be so harsh about the Angel's pitching as the O's are in the same boat in regards to SP, with only Bundy as a reliable option and Gausman as a maybe. -- Al

You weren't harsh, just realistic. On top of that, they have no reliable closer. It's amazing they're even in the conversation. Sciosia should get strong mention for Manager of the year.

Sciosia is just a good manager. He's there year after year, doing his job with what he is given, and getting the best out of them. Not his fault he hasn't had the tools to take advantage of Trout at his best. He certainly deserves consideration for getting them in the hunt with the pitching staff he has to juggle, as does Buck. Going to be a great last month in this chase. -- Al

Scioscia is a good manager, and he clearly is entrenched. He has been the Angel's manager since 2000, the longest currently tenured manager by about 7 years.

Nats got beaten 1-0 in a game that featured brilliant pitching by both teams. Brewers pitchers were just overpowering, fanning 17 Nats and allowing only 3 hits. A great game but a tough one to lose. -- Al

O's tied up in a real old fashioned pitchers duel tonight. Going into the 12th inning, the score is 0-0. A most unusual game for the O's, considering their SP, but it was fantastic tonight, as has been the bullpen and Toronto has been equally outstanding. Hope the O's can pull this one out. -- Al

O's win it 1-0 in 13. Schoop drove in Machado to win it. Great game. -- Al
