2017 Baseball Season: Let's Play Two! (2 Viewers)

I’m not sure what we witnessed but a baseball game it was not.

As a parting shot, I will be glad not to have to hear that train again. Moreover, the player celebrations are out of hand.

I’m sure no one in Houston will be showing up for work tomorrow bright eyed and bushy tailed.

I agree, Brad. I got caught up in the game, with all the back and forth, but not being a fan of football scores in baseball games, I would have preferred the game to play out as I had expected with Kershaw and Keuchel pitching, more along the lines of 3-2 or 2-1. Plus, 5+ hour games are not all that much fun. Along with the over the top celebrations for even basic plays, I think it's time for someone to tell these players that looking like Ted Kaczynski is just not working. Many of them look like they are just unkempt. -- Al

The Nats have apparently hired Dave Martinez as their new manager but no official announcement will be made until after the series. Martinez has been the front-runner for the job since the day Dusty got canned. -- Al
Martinez is getting a 3 year deal with an option for a 4th year. No word on money yet. This is a departure for the Nats who have never offered more than 2 years to any manager, including HoFer Frank Robinson, Davey Johnson, and Dusty Baker. This sticking point is what cost them the hiring of Bud Black and led to Matt Williams. Maybe the Nats are beginning to learn that the manager can be important and not just a plug-in-piece. -- Al

It's too bad almost no one on the east coast has a chance to see the end of one of these games. Why start at 8:30pm on a Sunday? The Dodgers score 12 runs with Kershaw on the mound and still lose. Not good. The truly bizarre thing is that they have lost three out of the last four games but still have home field advantage in this series. LOL. If it goes seven, then Kershaw is probably available to pitch a couple innings late in that game.

I go back to what I said: the game was a joke. If you like the MLB version of today’s NFL, then you liked last night; I don’t. It’s like playing a video game. Who would have thought that Kershaw would have blown a four run lead? I thought the game was over at that point. Fortunately, we are returning to a real park for the last two games, not a band box.

And what is with that corner in left field at Minute Maid Park? It is practically a hallway?

The Dodgers were very lucky in the top of the 6th; I find it hard to believe that they didn’t have a righty warming up in case McCann got on; Watson is primarily a lefty specialist.

A return to normalcy in Game 6. Well-pitched and played. Looks like a Game 7 is up in what has been a highly entertaining series. Now to see if the Dodgers bullpen can close out the 9th. -- Al

For what it's worth, make of it what you will, tonight's 7th game is the 39th Game 7 in WS history. In the previous 38 Game 7's, the home team is 19-19. Flip a coin, this will be fun. -- Al

A few of the games in the WS have been a disappointment, however I do love Game 7's in baseball and I am hoping that it is at least competitive.

Getting away from the Dodgers in a hurry. Down 5-0 in the 2nd, time to find a pitcher to stop the bleeding while the deficit is still single digits.:rolleyes2: -- Al

I really don’t know what the heck Roberts was waiting for. He must have had brain lock. It was obvious Darvish wasn’t ready for this game from the get go. At the very least someone should have been warming up when the inning started. The Dodgers were caught flat footed. I find some of his decisions poor. He’s likely cost his team a WS.

Darvish should have been yanked after the first inning, he sucked tonight, he sucked in his last start too, what a bed ****ting he did in the WS.

This game reminds me of game 7 of the 2004 ALCS, the Red Sox just steamrolled the MFY's, much like the Astors are doing................man can they rake.

It will take a massive gag job by the Astors pitching to blow this game.

To waste Morrow: another bad error. Roberts got caught between trying to get out of the inning and not waste a pitcher. A common mistake in judgment but he wasted the wrong pitcher.

Indeed, plus Dodgers have blown scoring opportunities. Carlos and Doug can’t be happy.
