2018 Baseball season (3 Viewers)

Interesting O's factoid: The O's have won 25 games this season...5 of them against the NYY's. You're welcome, Boston. ^&grin -- Al
Uh, make that 26 wins and 6 against NY.^&grin -- Al

The MFY's record vs sub 500 teams is piss poor...…………...let that trend continue tomorrow night.

Then it's off to Cleveland for them, Sox host Toronto.

Keep padding that lead.

You got to love baseball. Anything can happen. Haven't seen that before. -- Al

Al...that's so true...it seems like every game I watch...I see or learn something new...

the other day Gerrit Cole was placed on the Astro's bereavement list immediately after his last start...

the bereavement list rule...I had never heard of it...I had to Google it...

the concept sounded unfair to me...that he would need to take a mandatory minimum of 3 days off and a maximum of 7 days off...for lets say a distant cousin's funeral that was obligatory...maybe missing his spot in the rotation...hurting the team...

why impose the time frame if he only needed to leave for one day?

until it dawned on me that it was also a way for managers to manipulate the roster by giving pitchers bereavement leave at their discretion to bring in better hitters...

Yankees have made a very strong offer for Machado, according to Jon Heyman of MLB.

If the MFY's want someone, they get him, been happening since 1918.

They signed a **** ton of free agents in the 1970's, got horseface, Mussina, Sherman Klump, ARoid, Stanton, Chapman, Gray, Damon, Ellbury, the list goes on and on.

Good, go get Machado, do whatever.

As a Giants fan I am always nervous when someone like Machado is on the market because of the Dodgers. LA has deep pockets and a deep farm system so for them going after and getting someone like Machado is a really possibility.

I'm not sure I agree with your analysis. I have never heard of a team doing that, especially as the rule is not that old. Are you aware of a situation where that happened.

Weird question:

If Machado is traded before the all-star game do the Orioles get another player to represent them at the game since each team is supposed to have an all-star?

Don't know for sure about the O's getting another rep, but if Machado goes to an AL team, he remains the starter, if an NL team, he becomes a sub. -- Al

Here's to hoping he remains a starter, that way I know he isn't a Dodger!

With only four games until the break, I don’t think anybody of significance will be moved until after the break.

So the Indians had their best pitcher going last night...…………….and lost 7-4.

Naturally, that coconut headed ballbag "Gardy" led the way.

How in the name of Christ did Custer lose to these guys?
