I just received a note from Woody along with a contract for the 2018 West Coaster. The show will be held next year in its usual window date in March rather than January, as was the case this year. The show date is Sunday, March 4, 2018 between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM and will be held again at the Wyndham Anaheim Garden Grove Hotel, located at 12021 Harbor Blvd, Garden Grove, CA 92840. The hotel is offering a show room rate, but Woody didn't say what it was, but you can contact the hotel directly at 714-867-5555 or 800-996-3426. I hope that as many of you as possible plan on attending, because the viability of these shows is determined by your attendance and support.

Thanks Mike! This is great news! I like the new location a lot. Look forward to seeing you there.

I would like to extend an invitation to any Forum members and guests who are considering attending the 2018 West Coaster on Sunday, March 4th, to attend a Saturday morning showing of my collection and Bob Walker's collection between say, 8:00 AM and noon, which would still give you plenty of time for the room trading at the hotel in the afternoon on Saturday. Our collections are not located too far from the hotel: My house is only about 15 miles away, mostly on the freeway, from the hotel and Bob lives about another eight miles from me. If interested, please contact me at matara42@roadrunner.com or better yet, submit a reply on this thread. Thanks.

Maybe this sub-forum should be changed from "West Coaster (Irvine)" to" West Coaster (Orange County)" to more accurately reflect today's reality.

FYI: I checked with the Wyndham Anaheim-Garden Grove Hotel regarding room rates for the show and was told that they were $134 per night.

UPDATE: Bob will be hosting a get together Saturday morning, March 3rd (details to follow) for James Opie, respected British author and authority on toy soldiers who has been associated with the Philips, Vectis, and C & T auction houses, and famous W. Britian collector, Ed Ruby.

DATE CHANGE: Because the Saturday, March 3rd date would interfere with room trading before Sunday's show, this event has been rescheduled for the following Saturday, March 10th.

Hi,
I will be making the show this year albeit briefly! Flying in Friday mid morning, flying out sunday night, look forward to saying hello to my WC friends

I'm presuming that the March 10th event is the get-together at Bob's, not the WC.

Looking for Marx playsets, other vintage plastics like swoppets and such. Is this a good show , or is it mainly metal?^&confuse

In past years they have had a really good mix of both plastics and metal

Dudes:

McKenna will be there and will be selling some of my oddities via room trading.

It wont be that creepy.

Keep it silly

Will have to check dude. I have some Russian Fuedal Japanese figures I might sell but it's only 1 or 2 of them. I'm not rolling like Thor

LOL! No one rolls like Thor!
Although my wife has been known to call me little Thor. Now that I think about that I don't know if that's good or bad!! {eek3}
Anyways, Feudal Japanese figures are right up my ally. I'll see you tomorrow then or will you not be there until Sat?
