that boy is getting his money's worth...^&grin
good game George...

Cole has always had the propensity to give up the long ball...
him and Verlander were both guilty of that with the Astros...

Way to come up small in a big moment.

And their bullpen wasn't much better.

They're playing with house money right now, whatever happens, happens, no one is giving them a shot vs Tampa.

We'll see.

Congrats, George. The NYY's were never in the game. Boston simply did what had to be done and never let up. Hope they get past Tampa. -- Al

LOL!!

"What did I do wrong?"...........

What a nitwit.

I was driving home with my son last night and I hear the HR call and start cursing and then I hear Suzyn Waldman saying Stanton is at 1B. We were cracking up. Classic John.

Every time Judge and Stanton stepped to the plate, I was terrified, Stanton has been killing the Red Sox lately, he hit a rocket off the wall, a Fenway home run down the RF line and that one that looked as good as gone off the bat, then it just died and he starting pimping and ended up on first.

The rest of the Yankees don't concern me, especially with that monumental pain in the *** Lemahieu on the DL, he gets a hit every at bat vs the Red Sox it seems.

Cardinals/Dodgers tonight, Scherzer goes for the Dodgers.................which stinks; so if they advance, he's pitching in game 3, maybe comes in in relief for an inning or so in game 5?

He should be their game 1 and 5 starter, not being burned in a WC game.

Then the winner gets the Giants............................it's nuts.

Adios Cards, don’t let Fredbird hit you on the way out.

The Nats were there to support their buddies: Juan Soto (wearing a Trea Turner jersey) and Kevin Long (wearing a Max Jersey), along with Erica Scherzer.

The Dodgers-Giants series had to be. They battled all year long. Max was shaky last night. That game had all the hallmarks of an upset. Fall behind early. The starter is struggling. It stays close going into the 9th. The Cards just couldn't deliver the clutch hit. Onward.

Aside from 1951 and 1962 playoffs which technically don’t count, this is the first time these two teams have met in the postseason. This is the series everyone wants to see. It will be epic. Too bad it’s not in the NLCS but you have to take them as you find them.

I'm wondering if Max, at 37 years of age, may have hit the wall for this year. After being practically untouchable in his first 9 starts for LA, his last 3 starts have all been shaky. He just looks tired. Still, he's the man you want to start in the big game. One thing for sure, Max won't be asking for rest. -- Al

I thought Soto was there to get recruited by the Dodgers.

He'll either land there.

Or in pinstripes.

Because that's how both of those organizations roll.

I’d hope he stays with the Nats. He’s not a FA until 2025.

A few of us in DC hopes he stays here, too. I don't want to see him go to either Evil Empire East or Evil Empire West (aka LA Nats/DC Dodgers). Please leave us smaller market teams alone.:rolleyes2: -- Al

That's what big market teams with tons of dough do, they poach away talent from small market teams.

How many teams had the resources to trade for Scherzer AND Turner...........WOW, the Dodgers won 100+ games; what a shock!!

They're going to win back to back WS titles after they bulldoze the small market little train that could Doofin Rays once again; what a shock!!

Wow, came out of nowhere!!

Never saw that coming!!!

I have to admit I watched the Cards -Dodgers game last night. Swore I wouldn't watch another game when the BLM sh-t started. Now I have to say for 40 plus years baseball was my favorite sport. I can still name players on every team from the 50's thru 80's. But as a so called newcomer to the game now after a 20 plus absence. The pitchers seem to throw unbelievable pitches which I don't know how any one could hit. Another thing I noticed all the protective gear they wear. What is this hot plate glove certain base runners wear? Long story short I'll stick to hockey.

Although pitchers can throw faster than they did 20 years ago (upper 90s vs lower 90s), batters have learned to adjust to the increased speeds and can hit these pitches. The gloves they wear on the base paths is to protect their hands when sliding. Although the game looks the same as it did 20 years ago, it has changed quite a bit.

Just got home from Fenway; what a game, unbelievable, Vaz is the unlikeliest of hero's, that place went nuts when that ball landed up on the monster.

And I don't want to hear anyone complaining about the ground rule double, it wasn't a review that overturned a call on the field, it was a play determined by the MLB rulebook "If a batted ball hits a player in the field and goes into the stands, it's a ground rule double, TWO bases are awarded, batter gets second, runner on first gets third.

Besides, Vaz hit a two run bomb, even if the run counted, it's 5-4 Doofin Rays, RS win 6-5.

One win away from the ALCS........................all hands on deck tomorrow, super quick hook if the starter does not have it, period.

Red Sox are a team of destiny this year...
won the Wild Card against NY...
down 1-0 with TB...rallied to a 2-1 lead now...
they are peaking...

After roaring out to a 5-0 lead, the Rays tied it in the 8th, RS won it on a walk off fly ball in the bottom of the 9th.......................6-5 Red Sox.

The 92 win Red Sox, who qualified for the top WC spot the last game of the season, beat the Yankees in the WC game, then took down the 100 win/everyones pick to win the WS Tampa Bay Devil Rays.

Baseball is a funny game.

And the RS have been raking all playoffs long.

It's on to the ALCS.
