Wow Gary,hit that nail on the head,absolutely correct.been awhile,how's things by you,keepin your head down,lol,think some members should try a ride along and go home crying with their tail between there legs when
introduced to some of what goes on outside their little bubble.not claiming to know everything here,but am qualified to talk crime in Brooklyn,ny alot more than others here.and feel free to bust out your dictionary to teach me the meaning of some more words Scott,never too old to stop learning.

Chuck,

Those were your words not mine. Interesting how you teach others respect.

Brad

I,m sure Evilchuck will attest. Most of those shootings were "just thinning the herd".
In other words "who cares". These people doing the vast majority of the shootings have absolutely no value on life, there,s are anyone elses.
As long as they keep it amongst themselves, I,ll sell them ammunition.
Gary

Gary,
Nail hit on head. Could not agree more with you. It is a sad but true statement.

Chuck,

Always enjoy visiting with you at Louis's we will have to chew the fat so to speak in March! I agree with your assessment, my cousin is retired MD State Police and I did a ride along several moons ago in Baltimore City with one of his colleagues in the City. ALl I can say is WOW, after that ride, it made me want to move as far away from Baltimore as possible. Just disgusting what goes on in crime riddled areas. There is absolutely no respect for life, it was all about the drug trade and the turf.

Just came back from a 3x week holiday in the States, including a 4 night stay in NYC. Felt real safe walking about both day and night and found people very friendly and helpful.

I know this will cause a bit of a stir guys, but as an outsider looking in, your gun laws are crazy.{sm2}

No offence meant, but with the number of folks "packing" I'm not surprised you're having gunfights.

I feel sorry for the cops who've got to deal with these fools on a daily basis and clean up the mess afterwards!

You've still got a fantastic country, with some wonderful scenary and great people.^&grin

Regards!

Slightly off topic but I've been following Peter Jackson's video updates on his filming of THE HOBBIT. Your country really IS Beautiful and not all C. G. I. effects.

It's possible that in the US of A the two groups that carry guns, respectable folks (me included) and criminals (the poor to), both don't like Laws oppressing them, and also feel that The Law can't or won't defend them. We are a country that was settled first THEN brought in the law. It is more detailed then that of course.

Hey Tom,always a great time when we break bread,and toss back a few,see you in a few months,ride alongs can be a very interesting and eyeopening experience,also fun, NYC is a great place and one of the best cities in the world,everyone should visit,and most new Yorkers are very friendly,people mistake our fast pace for rude,that being said,there are a few "hoods" that you would not want to find yourself in,but I'm sure every city has them.and Scott you are right,police can't be every where and baby sit us,are regulate us at every turn also.I don't depend on my police or expect them to be there at the drop of a hat when I need them.and cut your brother some slack,those assisted living escapees can be dangerous too.lol

Chuck,

My step father worked a lot on Nostrand Avenue, they did a patrol in the early mornings to find bodies stuffed in garbage cans. Stuff like that. He was in riot gear during some of the unrest in the 1960's yet, he only drew his revolver on a suspect once in his entire career. Kind of a strange post I guess. He also injured his back in a crash during a chase so he ended his career doing dispatch and operations.

Now, to address something you said, I had a few incidents where I was respectful of of police officers and they opted to show me how to respect them which led to a settlement in a police brutality case. So, just so we understand each other, I am very supportive of police in general as I understand the job but I do not approve of nor appreciate some of the tactics I've experienced and witnessed. What they did to me and my friends was wrong. I can go into detail about it via pm if you're curious as to what happened.

Thanks Scott, yeah the Hobbit film is looking really good, not sure how his remake of the Dam Busters is going though. As for the gun debate, I'm a cop here in NZ and have a brother living in the US so have a fairly good idea how things work in your great country. As a police force we don't carry guns here, but have access to them, plus Taser. Sounds crazy I know, but by-in-large it works for us.....most of the time.{sm2}

Cheers Toddy

Be sure that you address state troopers that pull you over on the highway as TROOPER, not "officer." It could get you off with just a warning.

I have one of them in my family as well.
