Have not heard what they will be Wayne, but all will be revealed on 2nd September and regardless for me, they will travelling down under. This series is a core one for me, so they are must have. I have already made room for them as a permanent display. Expect a few batches released over the coming months and will compliment the existing series. Robin.

No mate I meant on the ones you have the prisoner sets etc ?

Hi Robin,

I am most impressed with how a PM mansion was transformed into a HQ stronghold. I love it! The weathering, brickwork, and bullet holes look fantastic. The scale works perfect with your 1st Airborne Division. Well done!

I always wandered why the few vehicles for the Para's seemed to go for a premium, as if they were short supply and hard to get. Now I know why. You have most of them Robin {sm4}{sm4}{sm4}

As already said, well done on the Play mobile conversion. I should imagine a few others will be inspired to give it a go too. :salute::

Steve

Hello Robin,
Sincere thanks for sharing, you are to be commended for your personal efforts in commemorating the 75th Anniversary of Operation Market-Garden. Noticing the increased interest as the 75th Anniversary of Operation Market-Garden (Battle of Arnhem/Oosterbeek) approaches, it is both refreshing and encouraging to see how it is manifesting itself in the broad spectrum of dioramas and displays showing up on this forum.

My personal interest predates the year 1977 (Cornelis Ryan’s classic A Bridge Too Far was published in 1974) I think it was the movie version of the book in that year that created a broader awareness outside Great Britain and the Netherlands of the battle. Obviously it was Andy Nielson and Laura McAllister’s introduction with the King and Country “ARNHEM ’44” Series in 1994, which indelibly solidified the battle amongst the vast majority of toy soldier/military miniature collectors.

Although not personally into the artistic media of dioramas, I can certainly appreciate and enjoy the talents demonstrated both in the past, as well as most recently on this forum. However, as a toy soldier collector since the young age of 11 (1947), am fortunate enough to have acquired the majority of Andy’s creations in his two series to date.

For those who might be interested in gaining a greater perspective and depth of knowledge into Operation Market-Garden, including both the real and toy soldiers involved, you may want to glance at the following anthology of my blog page; https://arnhemjim.blogspot.com/2019/07/commemoration-of-forthcoming-75th.html

A bridge to far was never in your thinking when it comes to scenes Robin...:tongue: Very nice once again mate.

Awesome scenes Robin. Who makes the trolley/rail coach? Really makes the dio complete. Chris

Is this the playmobile house refurbished?

Not sure who made the 'train' carriage Chris. I simply put a few bits of plastic strips together and placed on top to simulate the power pole to the wires, therefore suggesting it was a tram car. The hotel is indeed a Playmobil, my poor attempt to reproduce it, but it does the job for me as it does have lots of similarities to the original hotel and to have my model man make it instead, would be very expensive. A cheap alternative. Thanks for asking guys. Robin.

Your dioramas are always first rate and well produced. Your photo skills always enhance the mood, time and place of your 3D art-well done in every respect.
