On the thread above they had a confirmed delivery date of September........... the post was put up on June 23rd 20 and said there would be releases every 4 to 6 weeks after the move has been completed on July 6th 2020. So, as ever with W Britains, i will not be holding my breath.

I’d like to reiterate that I didn’t start this thread to pile on Britain’s. It is great that they are producing long awaited product, however I truly doubt we will see the 88 in September.

The month is a third of the way through and my dealer has nothing to report on any receipt or orders of the 88.

Gentlemen,

I know that Ken Osen just delivered an amazing Erie Canal diorama he has spent the last two months focused on producing (photos below, including one of the 1:64 scale diorama in front of the museum yesterday) to a museum in Erie, Pennsylvania. He e-mailed me this morning that a backdrop he had been almost ready to release was back-burnered because of this museum commission, and now that it had been delivered, would soon be available. Ken and Erika have a lot of irons in the fire, and getting things from China right now is difficult even for companies focused just on getting the products out. I am sure that we will be hearing good things from Britains soon.

Many thanks for posting Louis. What a fascinating display. Reminds me of the Indian village he did yrs ago for a museum in Alabama. I never could find a link to the railroad town dio he did. Would love to see those in person one day. Chris

I know from discussions with Ken he is not going to put anything out about pending releases due to the issues revolving around getting things from the factories. So thats not a great answer but I would say that the 88 will be showing up soon. Be patient

Thank you. The above post is exactly the type of information I am looking for.

Again, I feel the need to reiterate that my request for info is not an attack on Ken (who I have found to be one of the nicest people in the hobby) nor is it an attack on Britain’s itself.

The question of the issuance of the 88 has been out there for so many years and there have been so many complaints about its prospective issuance that it’s fruitless to speculate at this point. It will show up when it shows up.

I am glad you are starting to see some releases in ranges you collect.

I can only hope it is a sign that the 88 might be available soon.

I was in my local newsagents this morning and had a quick flick through Toy Soldier Collector 96 Oct/Nov 2020 issue, and apart from being on the front cover and a review inside, the 88 is part of the WB advert on the inside of the back cover, which states available in November.

Great news, but this is just one of many promises on delivery, earlier this year, on this forum in July 20, we were told Sept 20, while the earliest date was the Chicago 2015 show for Spring 2016 release. Reports on release dates are getting a little hard to believe, reminds me of the story about a small male adult making a noise about a large dog like creature disturbing some walking balls of wool, but then again the large dog like creature did turn up one day.
