A Few Photos (2 Viewers)

These are the most beautiful Prussian Calvary figures I have ever seen or had the pleasure to own. I hope this line will grow for many years to come. Thanks for sharing your wonderful collection. regards Gebhard

Like most all TS these look a lot better in the hand over a photo.
Nice detail and paint.
My lighting washed out some of the shading and highlighting.

Hi lenswerks,

I really like the style of photos you are doing.
Absolutely perfect, and showing the figures to their best advantage.

That is exactly how they look like, eye to eye.

I'm trying to do that kind of photos, but I guess I will have to work on the lighting and maybe the kind of camera.

However, I really enjoy these plain or straight pictures of the figures, not distracted by any scenery, photographic effects or diorama settings.
And I'm sure a whole lot of collectors appreciate just these views too.

If one is not able to visit a store, where these figures are in stock and displayed, you have no idea of what you get.

What I don't get, and it was said before several times, why a mfr like First Legion doesn't put more efforts in their promotional photos.

If I was First Legion, I hire you for the promo pics ^&grin

Happy Collecting!

Konrad

Thanks Konrad.
I do like to take photos of figures only, with light background for the reasons you mentioned.

When I saw the Persian stock photos I was thinking I was going to pass as the colors looked way too vivid/brilliant. I knew they were most likely not that bright and they are not, colors are nicely muted and because of this the clothing does not look busy as it does in the stock photos.

I have a lot of Ikea lighting in the room over each Billy bookcase in addition to a single LED flood in small aluminium hood [home depot]. I took this photo after dark tonight but normally I would have natural light coming in window from my back as well.

I also have the camera lighting set to incadescent, otherwise the images would have a tan tinge.

I will post up one of Haslets 1st Delaware in the morning - They're cool.
I seem to be in my AWI phase now.

I'm looking forward to that.

I don't suppose you have either of the AWI Mounted Personality Figures?
I'm particularly interested in General Cornwallis. I don't find the catalogue images for this figure very helpful and unfortunately (unfortunately for me and unfortunately for FL as well I would imagine) I'm not prepared to "sample" a US$180 figure.

I plan on getting the Macedonian Phalanx, they look very good.

I don't have General Cornwallis or Washington, but Cornwallis is on my list, soon I hope.

First photo better color than second, second a tad washed out.
Second photo flag rearranged

Really enjoyed your AWI photos. But I think that the best photo is the grouping of the Prussian heavy cavalry.Your photo seems to have to have caught them at the moment when the order was given to charge~the spurs were raked back and the horses leap forward into the gallop from the trot(at which pace all cavalry advances began).Perhaps this is how FL intended them to be displayed.Terrific figures showing the fluid motion of the horses.Beautifully photographed.Well done that man.

Thanks Tony.
AWI is my favorite of FM 18th-19th century work, not the conflict but the product.
Here are some NAPS.

The AWI range has some of my favorite FL product as well.
I find the uniforms, poses, overall style of the sculpting etc very pleasing to the eye.
To me its a bit like the good looking younger brother of the NAP range.
It also sells at quite a reasonable pace which works out great for me (though perhaps less so for FL).

Some cavalry and artillery for this range surely can't be too far off.

Thanks very much for the photo of Cornwallis. I too think that doing the dogs was a nice touch (I believe it may well have been a suggestion by a forum member).
At the risk of sounding ungrateful though, could you please post a few more photos of him.

Thanks,
Doug
