Certainly a great series to collect. Here are some shots of my dio which may be helpful for inspiration. Robin.

In lieu of actual 3-dimensional model buildings, for the meantime I have resigned myself to use a printed backdrop.

I found this 24"x36" poster of Hoi An Vietnam on the web. I needed one at least this long since I'm working with a 36" long shelf.

Once I trim it down to the overall height of the shelf (approximately 10") and apply some photographic editing when taking pictures, it will look like this:

This will do for now.

Yes that will work perfectly Mike. One bonus doing it this way and not using 3d structures, is there is more room for vehicles and figures. There is a lot in this series to chose from and the majority is still available. Robin.

Great birthday present there Mike
When you rode in them Mike, did the drivers know every bump and pothole and always manage to hit every one !🥴

I was really surprised at the quantity of 24x36 posters of Vietnam there were to choose from. Relatively inexpensive too. I ordered this from All Posters.com and it is supposed to be delivered Monday.

Oh I could tell you stories Steve 😉

No need to be sorry Wayne . . . That's great looking. You're waiting on dispatches and I'm sitting here waiting on my K&C USMC Huey helicopter that's out for delivery.

Received the poster of Hoi An, Vietnam yesterday. This morning I mounted it on a half-inch thick wood panel which I had cut to fit the back of the shelf. I used Mod Podge glue to adhere the poster to the panel. I'm really very pleased with the resulting background.

I've also added 6 sitting Marines in the truck, sets VN172, VN173, and VN174. Now the fun developing this display really begins . . .

That look really comes up well with a loaded truck now. Robin.

THX Robin. The truck just looked to empty. The sitting Marines gave it a purpose. I'm half toying with the idea of getting a second one to haul a load of cargo.

Looks great Mike. The poster blends in very well.

Thank you very much Chris. I'm really very pleased on how the poster backdrop turned out.

Certainly a cheaper way than buying physical backdrops and terrain. Almost limitless possibilities. Robin.
