ACW - My Battleground (4 Viewers)

Got the sun shining here in Maine Mike but I'm sure your not disapointed that it's raining at your end giving you a chance to resume playing on your battle field. Once again very nicely staged and photograph.{bravo}}{bravo}}

Thank you Scott and Joe . . .

Very nice Mike, is that mounted figure from the Chosen Ground set ?

Yes it is Scott. The figure represents Maj Gen Reynolds, Commander of the Union First Corps at Gettysburg.

If the sun were shinning here Joe, Lynn would have me out working in the yard . . sometimes a rainy day is good :wink2:

. . . . and so it continues

Great series of pictures you have here Mike{bravo}}

We've got a nice warm, sunny day this side of the pond, more suited to an Egypt and The Sudan scenario:wink2:^&grin

Cheers

Thank you so much for the kind compliment. Ever since First Gear and W. Britain merged I really believe that WB makes the most historically accurate ACW figures offered today. This is due to the effort of Richard Walker and of course the artistic sculpting of Ken Osen. WB/First Gear ACW figures today are "head and shoulders" above the product line put out by ERTL and RC2. Don't think I'll put this on youtube . . having it here is enough satisfaction for me.

This is my favorite thread of all time on the board. Please keep up the great work.

Why thank you . . . . this thread isn't over yet . . . more photos to come so keep stopping by to see what's new.

Titus, I have never taken the time to count them all. Roughly speaking I would say that there is a BUNCH :tongue: I don't even have all my artillery sets, my Irish Brigade (Union figures in forage caps), or my dismounted cavalry in use in this battle scenario.

That is quite awesome...where did you get that excellent background?

The background of the grassy field w/split rail fence and woodline is an actual photograph of Seminary Ridge at Gettysburg taken by Ken Osen and then enlarged to a 32"L x 19"H photo mounted on 1/4" foam board. I got it at last years Chicago OTSN show. The other backdrop showing blue/purple mountains in the background is a 48"L x 24"H painting that I did myself from a photo of the Shenandoah Valley with the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia. Its another backdrop I use a lot.

Mike...gotta admit...that's one of the nicest collctions I have seen and some very sweet photos to boot...VERY COOL!!!!

As always Michael, thanks for the complimentary feedback.

I just got around to seeing this thread Mike. I do not know what else I can say that hasn't been said yet. You've done an outstanding job! You are the envy of us all in your artistic ability and in the size of your collection of figures and scenics.

Thanks for sharing this and keep them coming!

Mark

That dio earns five 'eeks'....WOW, I don't know what else to say. So glad I peeked into this thread, really makes me think I should get into ACW lines (oh god, please no, not another line).
Nice job !

Thank you very much Mark and Mike . . . . and so the battle continues . . .

That looks awesome. I'm ready for more close ups Mr. DeMille:). I see you have the hard to find guy jumping over the wall set. I think that was a Collector's Club figure from back before I joined. I also noticed the First Legion NCO. Very Nice. ---- Jeff

Excellent ACW stuff.....With talent like yours around BSP will be hesitant to delve into this subject matter......Although we have just completed arrangements with Britains to do just that.......I don't know where we can take it from here. Beautiful work. Alex

Thank you very much Jeff, Martyn, and ALex

The figure you refer to as the "over the wall set" is actually from the Conte Confederate Antietam set and is the figure climbing the split rail fence. He works out very well going over my stone wall. The FL NCO is the only FL ACW figure I have currently. He fits in perfectly with the rest of my WB and/or Ken Osen sculpted pieces. I am thinking about getting just 4 more of the FL ACW figures but that's all.

I always enjoy anything done by BSP, I am just not that much into WWII. Now if BSP is going to do ACW that will really be "eye candy" for me. Looking forward to your work with WB Alex.

Nice way for me to polish off my first cup of coffee Mike an enjoying the next in the continuing of your Battleground Series.........The Lt.

What a great way to start my day Mike !!! I think that is one of your best photos to date. Very nicely done.
