Early morning thunderstorms here this morning . . . perfect weather to stay inside . . . . thought I would create a scenario using my new Confederate bugler WB #31110 . . . I wish WB would offer a figure of "Old Baldy" so that all of Lee's Corps commanders at Gettysburg were represented . . . enjoy . . . .

GETTYSBURG, PA
Dawn, July 2, 1863, Seminary Ridge, somewhere near the middle of the Confederate lines

Pickets were posted. The bugler had blown officers call. Now General Lee and his Corps commanders got down to the business at hand . . . how to dislodge the Union army in front of them and lead their army to victory. The bugler anticipates the order to call assembly. A brigade commander approaches hopng to receive his orders to attack . . . Spirits are high . . . .

Very cool, I love the back drops.

Nicely done Mike. I see your new bugler has made it to the front. Chris

Superb Construction Mike-Love the whole scene-maybe downstream you could have "Sam" Hood whittling a thin stick sitting in the background and even Col. Fremantle of the Coldstream Guards half way up one of those trees observing the field through glasses or telescope (can't remember which).

That Reb bugler is a beaut too and a good grab as there are very very few Reb Infantry buglers ever produced for our era....I think the only one in my collection is a Frontline figure bought eons ago because I couldn't find another.

Also concur we need a figure of Old Baldy Ewell and Jubal Early. I've attached a picture that will appear in the next Diaries episode which uncannily imitates your shots except this is depicting the Evacuation of Richmond and Petersburg but had exactly the same characters for that meeting as for the second day at Gettysburg.

You will note I have used the new Britains figure of Joe Johnston standing in for Ewell-research of the few photographs of both Ewell and Johnson reveals a close resemblance to each other although I believe Ewell favored wearing a kepi. In the shot I have used the more realistic looking Powell Hill and "relegated" the former AP Hill figure as a closer looking Jedediah Hotchkiss who suggested to Lee that the breakout should take multiple routes toward the junction at Amelia Court House which of course culminated at Appomattox.

Great work Mike and please keep flyng your ACW battle flags

Mike: Great composition and added inventory always adds to the depth of the depiction.
