WB #31074 "The Chosen Ground Command Set #3" arrived at my doorstep late this afternoon. This is the last set and now finishes my collection of the WB series of the 2nd Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry Regiment charging up McPhearson's Ridge and towards the Confederates in Herbst's Woods on July 1, 1863 at Gettysburg. This whole series was based on Keith Rocco's painting by the same title "The Chosen Ground". I couldn't wait to set the entire series up on the special display base (WB #DISP10) which was also made for this series. The first photo is one I took of the original painting by Keith Rocco. The second photo is my display and attempt to mimic Rocco's painting using all of the WB sets in this series plus some duplicates and extras . . .

Hey Mike, excellent work here. Your set up is a great reflection of the actual artwork. Britains also did an outstanding job on this line, as their sculpting captures the action in the painting perfectly.

Mike...

Mr. Rocco did a nice job painting his rendition of your diorama...hehehe...

tell him I said he's pretty darn close...

nice work buddy!!!

Looks like you couldn't take the chance the sun would come out tomorrow and it didn't rain Mike. Nice job with the recreation of The Chosen Ground,

Very nice Mike {bravo}}

Great picture to start my weekend :salute:::salute:::salute::

Cheers

Martyn:)

Very cool! I have seen even reenactors go into that unintentional V-like formation with the colors at the apex when advancing at the double quick. It will look like that until the men "dress". The men advancing at Right-Shoulder look great. It's tough for drummers to run AND drum. They are beating the call to form a front and Mr. Rocco and Britains got THAT down well.

Wow, great scene Mike! I'd say you completely captured the painting, down to the shell bursts. Outstanding work. Chris

Thank you gentlemen for your kind comments and observations; Mark, Noah, Wayne, Michael, 6th Wi, Joe, martyn, Scott, and Chris . . . .
