We are pleased to present the Confederate 13th Alabama in firing line as our second major Confederate release for our American Civil War figure range. As part of Archer's Brigade, the13th Alabama was heavily engaged on day 1 one of the Battle of Gettysburg against the Iron Brigade around McPherson's Woods. They are credited for having been one of the possible regiments to have shot and killed Union General John Reynolds. Though the figures are designed as the 13th Alabama, they can serve well as many different Confederate Regiments and the figures will mix and match quite well with other Confederate figures that we have previously or will release. When we initially launched this range, we said we wanted to approach it as something of a second flagship figure range. Well, we feel that we're just starting to live up to that promise and there will be more to come later this year.

Matt,

Wonderful figures !!! However, I think you have made a typo on the price for the two figure vignette, ACW062. You show it as $59.95 on your post, but $119.95 on the FL website. I am sure the $119.95 is the correct amount.

Really great stuff, will be buying them as I can. Favorite is ACW 062. Fantastic little vignette.

These will be wonderful additions to bolster my existing Reb firing lines . . . .
:smile2: Mike

I will be adding some of these soon - my first Reb FL figures. I like too many of your lines!!

The battle flag is a faithful recreation of one that is in the Alabama state archives: http://www.archives.state.al.us/referenc/flags/029030.html

However, it is puzzling. It lists Cold Harbor which was fought in 1864, a year after Gettysburg, but the flag in the Alabama archives from the 13th Alabama was supposedly captured by Union soldiers at Gettysburg. I wonder if the Cold Harbor stitching was added at a later date?

Awesome figures - I wish I had more to spend on FL and could branch out into the Civil War!

Look like the Iron Brigade will be coming next.

Superb figures and high on my list of must haves.

There were two battles of Cold Harbor-This flag's battle honour will be the first fought during McClellan's Peninsular campaign in the Seven Days Battles June 1862. It is mostly referred to as Battle of Gaines Mill but is also known as The First Battle of Cold Harbor

Bob,
Thanks for that information, I did not know that, this will be a very useful bit of information for me to have as ammo at a show when these figures are being critiqued by an ACW expert........................

Thanks! I only new the battle as Gaines Mill. I didn't realize it was sometimes referred to as Cold Harbor.

WOW Just beautiful ... I can't collect this line but that drummer is one cool looking figure {bravo}} . Congratulations to ACW collectors everywhere . Regards Gebhard

You can't beat First Legion when it comes to the variety of dress of their Confederates. This new release is just as good on that point as the 55th North Carolina. Outstanding stuff!

Looks to me like figure ACW050 is armed with a Sharps rifle. Worth picking that one up just for the variety in weapons.

Here's my great-great Grandfathers 2nd battleflag (55th of Virginia) also has some of the same battle markings as the 13th Alabama figure with flag in hand...Sammy

Very cool Sammy. I have ancestors from Michigan who fought for the North as well as family from N.C. that fought for the South. It really is a pleasure to collect ACW figures because it always gets me thinking of my familys past.
