Yeah, I'm really enjoying the pacific USMC series and still got a few more to grab.

Those camo lads look great.

A lovely scene Rob! Would love to see some early USMC/ Raiders/paras for the Pacific armed with the M1941 Johnson rifle/M1941 Johnson LMG and M50/55 Reising smg.

Cheers,
Grey

Spectacular work, Rob! Your vignettes never get old. :salute::

Hey Guys, thanks for the comments.

Just on the other side of the ridge and not expecting US Marines to be waiting in great numbers:

I seldom do any custom work but created this little base mat a few years ago:

When i was getting ready to ship to Viet there was a very mild mannered,,great NCO in the Recon training unit,,ft knox KY,,he wore a !st marine Div patch on his uniform, combat side,
He enlisted in the army later on,,,,was in the 2nd Raider Bn.

Great photos and set up. Trivia: the action at Alligator Creek was on Guadalcanal. The Marines at Alligator Creek didn't have M1 rifles or "frog suit" camouflage. Those items came after 1st Marine Division was rebuilt after Guadalcanal.
