Alma Figures Crimean War - Gloss and Matt (4 Viewers)

Yet another nice job Jeff.

Should have some matt ones to accompany them very shortly. Nearly finished painting them up, just short of one colour to get them finished.....

Simon,

Grey primer is just as good as green to a blind man - nudge, nudge ;) ;) :D

That sounds like good stuff! Post them on here when you have done and if you are going to the London show at the end of the month I may have a little surprize for you :cool:

Thought I would plough on and finish these. I will post some more photos of all the completed figures tomorrow.

Just awaiting the arrival of two kilted Highland Officers.

Jeff

Jeff,

Absolutely great !
I'll make sure the kilted officers get their marching orders as soon as possible ;)

These turned up today and here they are assembled and awaiting undercoating, which will be tomorrow. The sporrans are just pressed in and will be removed for painting.

It's nice again seeing the results Jeff of of what a paint brush in your hands accomplishes. Thanks once again for the play by play photos and the results are once again top shelve........The Lt.

Thanks Joe, perhaps one day I'll get round to doing a Zulu theme related set.

That would be great to see.................wait a tic, didn't Simon start some Zulu sets about 10 years ago ??? LOL

The figures look great Jeff and I am sure the officers will fit right in when they are done.

Today is tomorrow, well it would have been yesterday, if you get my drift? Anyway the Officers have been undercoated in grey primer and will have to dry a while before painting.

And now for something a little less shiny :p

Superb detail on these figures, and very nice to paint up.
And before you start wondering, no, the figures are actually painted in a royal blue, but I managed to get a green filter on my camera so as to get a vaguely authentic look.

I've said this before - the detailing and quality of the sculpting and casting on this range of figures is of the highest level. A well thought out and designed range.

Simon, did you have trouble with the green? You should have said I could have lent you a tin or 20! :p:D

These look very nice in matt - nice paint job :). Are you going to obtain some Highlanders? I think a matt finish would suit those too.

Jeff

Great job Simon, you are a dab hand with the paint brush also. They do look nice in a matte finish also.

Great job Simon !!!!
That was worth waiting to see such a brilliant result .
Michel

I was wondering how these would look in matte. You did a great job Simon.

Thamks awfully chaps. They were a hoot to paint up. There's a distinct lack of resource info on the web in relation to Crimean Rifle Brigade uniforms and equipment, as I started to find out after numerous different google variations.

Michel, hopefully able to do the figures justice, they are brilliantly sculpted and detailed.

Jeff, thank you for the belated offer of paint. ;)

I may well end up getting a few more sets of the Alma figures, although I've still got thousands of other bits to paint up / repaint / convert / modify / build etc, etc

Nicely done figures in both matte and gloss Simon and Jeff and agree the sculpting of the figures are extremely well done. By the way gentelmen are they any figures available covering the Zulu War? One other point hope neither of you run out of green paint anytime soon it's a pleasure seeing the end results you both achive with your paint brushes and the lessons being given.......The Lt.

Hi Joe, thanks for your continued support. :)

Alma Figures is Crimean War only, but Michel would be able to confirm whether he plans to expand on this.
