Yes ,absolutely correct ,your work is "truly outstanding","stunning" and I add;this accomplished effort is a triumph
Thank you,I've enjoyed lurking this thread enormously. Although I'll certainly savour the next,it has been good to read your posting elsewhere on the forum(don't forget what they say about Jack).
Thanks again for a superb thread.
Best,John

Thanks John, I thought that you might be "lurking", as tartans are one of your interests. ;):)

The Postman came a knocking!...........Reinforcements and Enemy plus some other rather useful contents but more of those later ;)

GREAT !!!! They certainly should keep you busy for many an hour. :D :D :D

Looking forward to seeing these spring to life. The standard/colour bearers look particularly fantastic.

Brilliant ! :D
So how long does that give me to queue up,and enter ticklish negotiations for my glossy Horse Grenadiers ? :D (he said dreamily)
I anticipate this new project with pleasure, and shall try not to be intrusive.
Best,John

Those look interesting, especially the Flagbearers. Looking very much forward to see them come alive.
Will you be doing the French Zouaves too in a future project?

Enjoyed watching the progress of the last group of figures and the outstanding results Jeff and looking forward to watching the progress of the next group you've started on........The Lt.

Very nice painting Jeff. :)

When you see the pics enlarged it's good to remember how small these figures actually are and how much detail is being done in such a small area.

As a fellow painter, I am interested in which colors you are using for which parts and when you mix your colours what the formulas are. Black, white, silver and gold are a given, but what about your reds, blues, flesh etc.?

Do you use strickly Humbrol enamel paints?

Thanks, Chuck

Chuck, thanks for your interest.:)

Regarding the colours, I only paint in Humbrol gloss and apart from the flesh (mixed from buff and a dash of red) and the green bases (green and yellow) everything else is straight from the tin.

Hi Konrad,

Yes the flags will make a change, hopefully not too bad as the detail is moulded on, (famous last words!)

French Zouaves? Who knows? Well I suspect Michel does!;)

The flags are detailed alright, Jeff,
but having a casting like that in the one hand and a paint brush in the other, it is still awful challenging
Don't have any doubt though that you will bring the best out of them ;)
Like the fellow forum member said, when seeing the posted pictures of the finished figures it is easy to forget the actual scale and how small they are. I guess that's what makes the "WOW" feeling when holding a piece in the own hands, like I could with the FIW sets and the Nap Set you painted for me.
Looking forward to stick with this ever growing thread.
Konrad

The Russians were assembled (as usual) with a gel type super glue and then undercoated with a few light coats of grey car primer. At this stage Michel is still undecided as to which regiment these are to represent, so watch this space.

Nice figures anyway!

These figures represent a British Line Regiment, very little to clean up and assembled and undercoated as the Russians.

So we need to wait a few days to allow the primer to dry and then get the paints out again..............where's that green??.............

Michel, I'm glad that the figures have reached you safe and sound. I must admit that the gloss paint gives a nice "feel" to them........shame I had to send them back!

Yo Michel, know exactly where you are coming from. The same with me and the Cavalry Jeff painted you see the photo's, but when you have hold of them they are stunning. Just got these back from Jeff this morning, two photos to show what they were like. A friend straightened the bent figure (What a great job that was) But then Jeff had to match the paint in. The same with the other Jeff repaired the broken Ensign and matched the paint. I sat there for 20 minutes looking at them and could not even see were they had been repaired and touched up, you can see why I call him the SURGEON GENERAL:D. Cheers mate just a stunning job.
Bernard.

I've just received painting instructions from Michel for the Russians and these four figures are to represent the Suzdashki Regiment (32nd) of the 16th Division. I will see if I can make a start on these tomorrow.
