Here is an enlarged version of the colour plate, so all we need now is some plate. To be continued..........

No rest for the weary! You do fine work and I know that taking photos and postiing along the way - eats up more precious time... Many thx again!

The French seemed to like having as many black straps as the British had white  The jacket and trousers had a second coat and when the paint has dried the yellow braiding will be painted.

Heads are mainly finished, The complete turban was painted in matt white, just the gloss, red cap and yellow tassels to finish off.

Jeff

Well this completes the heads, except for the Officers hat.

Yo Jeff sorry mate lol, looks like they are going into battle with a double bed, a kitchen sink, and all the pans on their backs. Did they knock off for a dinner break half way through the battle lol, have a quick game of poker, sound like good union men to me:D. Just having one of those funny moments:) should pass soon;).

Great figures and a great paint job. I'm a real sucker for the blue and red French uniforms. I am not a uniform and equipment expert but it appears that one could put a Lebel rifle in their hands, get rid of the cap pouch, add 2 front cartridge pouchs like the one on the back, and voila, you have WW1 Zouaves. Yes, the equipment and uniforms underwent minimal external changes between the Crimea and the Marne. Gotta love the French. -- Al

Rifles painted in dark brown and slings in black. I painted the yellow braiding on one figure to see what it looked like............;)

Well, it looks pretty good. So do please continue with the others.;)

 After an intense/serious inspection of the painted braiding I will have to agree with Simon and Michel.
Jeff, you're good to go, please continue :D
