I've heard the best beer was made in Perth - Swan Lager closely followed by Technicolour Yawn. :wink2:^&grin

Unless you want yo egg drunk fast no self respecting beer lover would drink swill like Budweiser. We have hundreds probably thousands of microbrews made in this country. I was down in semi-rural Pennsylvania recently and ate at a restaurant that must have had ten or twenty local beers. Had a couple and they were delicious.

What at beers like Bud, Coors or Miller have going for them is huge marketing and ad budgets. Other than that, nothing.

I'll drink to that :)

And I'd love to sample the special North American brews that only a hand crafted brewer can make, just some here in OZ :)

This whole debate is historically inaccurate. The term swill was first used in 1553, while the term beer has a first known use sometime before the 12th century.

Crikey! I am currently in transit in Singapore and a beer fist fight has been happening while I have been away! All I can say is, kick back, have a coldy or 10 of your choice (preferably an Aussie brew of course!!^&grin) and then smell the roses!{sm3}

It's quite likely that swill was made before 1553. I'm sure there was bad beer after the 1100s :wink2:

Well said Tom,

sometime I wish that I don't post something of interest to toy soldier collectors.... it can sometimes end up in the 'slops tray' :) :)

Sadly I know one or two who have swilled from that same tray{eek3}.....and they will forever remain nameless:tongue::wink2:^&grin

Gentlemen, Cobbers & Mates,
Many thanks for the congrats and I must say that I have nearly achieved all I require in life. I have a beautiful K&C Museum with a dealership attached and my son owns and operates a Pub.
What more could a man ask for. Whoops just got a whack from the GLW for not including her in my list.^&grin^&grin
To end all arguements, I have travelled the globe and tried to find a nice beer but even my good mate Chris Munro could not steer me onto one whilst in the US. Nothing better than (hate to say it) a Queensland XXXX Gold.:smile2:
Cheers Howard

A very nice article there Howard, all the best to you and Jenny for 2014 in your new venture my friend. If my boss lets me off I hope to hear all about it on Saturday in the bar, where we don't mess about with this Beer nonsense...straight to the spirits!:salute:::wink2: Even Louis went straight on the Whisky when he walked in!:salute::

All the best H.
