Guys, In the last week the forum has been full of angst, rage and arguments, how about we get back to talking about this great hobby of ours.

So, any of you have any new K&C projects in either planning or early development stage?. I have two ideas running around my brain. One is a straight forward airfield scene involving my aircraft and RAF figures, it would make for a good display of the range but is of course of limited action, the other involves the ruined Church in a Bulge backdrop. So whats next on your workbench guys?.

Rob

Great idea, Rob.
I'm hanging out for the new bulge stuff with the view to organizing a hasty conference between Skirzeny et al with the older radio car, kubelwagon and attendant cronies. The snow tiger, looming in the background will be a bonus.

Sounds really good, the Snow Tiger will make for an excellent back ground:cool:

Rob...

Just started on a scene similar to the scenes from band of brothers when Easy are in the woods dug in. Making a dio with the sets BBA 36, 34 40 and the guy with the stove from XM08 these guys are perfect for using in dug in trench positions plenty of winter bushes and tree's should make it look quite effective (Hopefully!!)

Like the idea of the airfield dio and the winterised Church scene

Hey that sounds good Mitch, the Bulge figures are an excellent range to work into a dio and this sounds like it will be splendid. There is now also a great range of bushes and snow effect etc to choose from, would be good to see some pics when you've finished.

Rob...

I will take a few pics as it progresses. I want to put a small frozen beck in the background and to recreate the frozen water I an playing around with a product called shrink plastic. Its original form is to be heated and as its name states it will shrink down into a variety of shapes etc.

However, when the white sheets are sanded and not heated they look like frozen ice so, its a very easy way to create this effect as, it can be cut easily with scissors and, I fancy putting a hole in the ice and have a fishing rod stuck as the troops scavenge for fish but, will have to see how it works. It may end in being no good and back to the original way of creating ice etc.

I agree about the wealth of products for winter scenes I am glad the hobby has so many correct scale accessories as it does now

Great idea, let's get back to the fun stuff. Two dios planned (expecting a long, cold winter):
1. Bulge dio, 4'x3' with a bridge as the centerpiece.
2. Crusaders (unknown size), using JG miniature castle sections.

Yes Rob,
1. May 1940, Belgian civilians fleeing on the FLemish roads towards France mixed with some British Infantrymen on a backbround of bombed and burned houses.
2. With the new BOB figurines" cold feet warm boots",I will make an exact copy of a famous WWII picture taken in the village of Murringen of German soldiers looting US casualties.
3." Achtung jabos" will be set in the Falaise pocket including the Panhard 178 Armoured car and some SS
4.The new ambulance winter version will play an important role in a scene set in the Ardennes during the BoB.
I am at the moment gathering photographs and enough info in order to make these dios historically as correct as possible.
5.At the moment I am envolved in making a dio for another manufacturer.
So you see plenty of stuff to come
Guy:)

We are gettin our loft done up soon for my diorama room, so I will have a few dios!:DHave one on a table (all my old Arnhem pieces with a bridge which I built) which are set on a table, an will take pictures and will try to place them exactly how they were, I hope!

Have an XXX Corps diorama in the making, but can't put it down until the poft is done due to lack of space! Have even made several plans!
Would like to show XXX Corps entire movement, from the Irish Guards Sherman Firefly's engaging the german forces hidden in the forests hidden by netting, to the tanks and vehicles in single file to moving along that single road, to XXX Corps in Brussels where they started off from!:DWill be rather long, but will include long sections of dirt road with tanks in single file, the King and Country pontoon bridge with a build-a-rama mat under it, and hopefully if I can get some dutch buildings, a civilian town area with tanks, vehicles and men preparing to push off:D
And maybe even the king and country civvies from the Fob range if they fit in!

I also have a large Bulge diorama to look forward to building!:D Got the D-day jimmy truck, halftrack, and patrol jeep moving past an American position with the 105mm Beside the road to provide cover for the convoys moving along the road. Also have the wounded sherman which I would like to add to the diorama where the tank which is the leader of a small patrol has went over a mine and is now under german ambush or something! Also have a rather large bulge which Tony made, and I think he said it was his first attempt, he took it to a london show and displayed sets on it, before sending it down to me for it to arrive on Boxing Day! It's a great piece! Would also like to hopefully add the newer American sets: Ambulance, tuck, riders, medics, and MP set to the convoy base scene with the jimmy, and a few of the germans to make a small scene in the dio of Germans who have just attacked an American column and are stealing supplies and walking past the dead and the blown up vehicles. Finally would like to add a scene of the 101st defending the Ardennes forest with fox holes and craters and lots of trees hiding the men in the fox holes!:)

Also have a diorama with the newer arnhem sets which I am going to get a 1/30th scale model or arnhem bridge made! Or may just make it a ramp and maybe half the bridge!

Got a small diorama depicting the death of the scum bag heydrich (who's name does not deserve a capital) with some Fob british laying down cover fire for the Czech Resistance fighters as they kill the scum, however german paras have came upon the scene and are trying to catch the resistance fighters (I know totally historically innacurate!)

I would also like to create an Airfield diorama with British and American Paratroopers before they took off for Operation Market Garden, with spitfires and hurricanes and RAF crew on the airfield!

Also got American 3rd Infantry Sets and DD28 Rangers Set which I would like to create a little diorama with, maybe a patrol through a French town looking for some more germans to kill and capture!

And I have some 82nd and 101st Airborne sets, however I am not sure whether or not to create a small scene with American paras capturing Nijmegen/Grawe, or maybe even a blown up Son Bridge during OPM, or a D-day diorama with them all, as the uniforms are the wrong kind for market garden!

Am also wanting to create a large Waterloo diorama with my Trophy Miniatures and WBritains sets!

Gpt the British Landing craft and 2 British commando sets as well, and 1 Ranger set, On the Beach Set B.

And finally, I would like to create a small diorama showing a scene from Black Hawk Down, Got 3 special forces sets, and would like to get some of the desert buildings!

Look like were both doing the same thing Scott , I even went for a Build a rama river matt as well

Guys, really good to hear what you are all up to with your dio plans, so good to be talking about something positive again:). Keep em coming!

Rob

When the new tiger comes, a dio of the battle around Leningrad with all early war grey AFVs with whitewash. Eastern Front rocks

Terry

Have a couple of projects on the go that centre around ruined buildings. Have just finished an old ruined church/chapel, which could be used for a number of dio's.;) Right now I've placed a few K&C Para's around it, with an old cart.

Also have a Normandy/Arnhem crossroads scene I'm very slowing gathering figures/vehicles for.......:D

My biggest problem is time, hopefully will get a chance over our Xmas Holidays, if I'm not at the beach catching waves.....:p.

Will post pic's when finished, cheers all!
