I noted George's comparisons :
hatfields vs mccoys
sharks vs jets
greasers vs socs
bloods vs crips

and get all of them except Greasers vs Socs. I think Greaser probably refers to John Travolta types but what is a soc ?

Has been an interesting thread.

I like the new line "You have been removed from this discussion" which I experienced for the first time recently. Was new to me but a good option for the Mods.

The reference is to two "gangs" in a movie called "The Outsiders" directed, I think, by Francis Coppola. Had a lot of, at the time, unknown actors like Patrick Swaze, Emilio Estevez, C. Thomas Howell, Matt Dillon, Ralph Macchio, Tom Cruise, Dian Lane. Watch it as it is quite a good show. The reference to a Soc means rich kids as opposed to the poorer greasers. -- Al

I think the main thing is here that now the mods are keeping an eye out and we may now be allowed to all discuss our favourite producers in our own threads without baiting or insults, and I think thats what most of us here would like. Debate is to be encouraged at all times, but when that slips into insults and baiting then hit the flag button bottom left. But with luck and a new spirit of tolerance maybe this won't be needed.

Not posted for sometime due to ill health but have watched from the sidelines with interest,amazement and bewilderment.One of the few things that have made the last few months easier has been my interest in this hobby, when i was at some low points i would look at my K&C dios and would be amazed at all the new things i would see in the characters and objects that make up each dio.It would make me appreciate my collection,my own ability to create the dios but also it made me appreciate Andy Neilson because without his creative ability these small things that were helping me back to health, hopefully, wouldnt exist.Andy must be amazed that his creations can mean so many things to so many people in sickness and in health and as a community of collectors we should show even a little courtesy and gratitude to a man many of us will never know or meet but his creations surround our lives 24/7. My dios give me immense pleasure and a real and tangible reason to get well again to finish them off at least.I may not post again for a while but hope ive made some sense to some.Thanks to Andy and all his fellow creators in all the TS companies and thanks to all who keep the forum going. I have to admit, That I have stirred the pot more than a few times. And for that I am sorry Andy. But I guess there is a point in the Hobby, where everything that is available that is/was wanted. Has been bought. And the only thing that was left. Is to complain about what is not being made. But, eventually you do give us things that we want. And for that I thank you (thanks for the Priest), And thank you too, to the future purchases.
I will Always look forward to your Dispatches. Be it ..........

Actually Chris I think it has mate!{eek3}. Most agree that there is a diff between legit debate and critique and personal attacks or baiting. And in a great show of respect, one of the gentlemen accused of aforementined baiting has stated that its time to move on from all that stuff , which I thought showed maturity and respect. ^&cool

And all seems quiet again, K&C fans are ra ra-ing here and FL fans are ra ra-ing over there, so all is good with the world....hope I havn't spoken too quickly!
