Arnhem 2010. (1 Viewer)

Many great suggestions here. I recall an old Arnhem 44 set that had Brits and Germans in prisoner and captor scenes. Another one of those updated would do nicely.

I would like to see a 17 pounder cannon with crew , mortar team , flame thrower & Airborne jeep but done right for a change ;)

I'd like to see more camo Waffen-SS figures and vehicles.
A Mark III or IV. Some Stug's. Some Half tracks and Armoured Cars.....
Recreate the doomed charge by SS Capt. Graebner and his 9th SS Recon.
His command vehicle, some Pumas Etc.:):)

I'm no expert on jeeps but there's a few posts on here from folks who don't like the 2 MG jeeps. What's the innacuracy on them? Too many machine guns mounted would seem a possibility - but they look good to me and you can take off the one you dont want.

Here is my suggestion for the K&C Arnhem 2010 range:

Major Allison Digby Tatham-Warter, OC A Company, 2nd Battalion, The Parachute Regiment at the Battle for the Bridge at Arnhem, 1944.

Major Tatham-Warter with his Umbrella.

http://www.pegasusarchive.org/arnhem/tatham_warter.htm

Quote from the Link:

".....Digby leading a bayonet charge against German infantry who had dared to enter British territory; carrying a pistol in one hand, madly swinging his umbrella about his head with the other....."

Thanks, Raymond.

The mortar team would have to be a solid choice and greatly received.:D

How about an jerry 8 ton flak gun & crew?? I remember seeing a short b&w clip showing an 8 ton gun in an open field near Arnhem, surrounded by german infantry giving some allied transports a good go while making drops.

Would love to see some sort of flak gun & team......lots of options there!!:)

Cheers Toddy

I was also wondering what people think the problem is?.

For a start all airborne Jeeps had short length bumpers to save on weight & to help fit in gliders & the grills were trimmed down
A Rec jeep had only one lewis Mg at the front as well
The one K&C made look more like ETO SAS Jeep

If Andy has any Warbirds or the new polystone aircraft ( which would probably be better due to the affordability) that are planned to be released during that time I think a C-47 would be neat, two different versions even, one British, the other American. I think that would be a great addition to the arnhem series.

That would be a great plane to have, but it is probably too big to make out of polystone. At 1/30 scale, the wingspan would be 38".

I'd love to see a C-47 for this range but as Terry says I fear it would be too big,I've got the Hurricane arriving next week and thats going to be pretty big!

Rob

Yeah I do suppose that is along the lines for way too BIG.(Should have thought about that before posting ,just think of the sheer weight of a C-47 made of polystone, stupid me!)

What if Andy made an Arnhem Village similar to that of the desert village just recently released? :D Somewhat like in this aerial photograph.

I don't know if this ever happened or not in Arnhem, (There were a ton of tanks.) but in Saving Private Ryan when all the paratroopers crawled up onto the tiger, shot the commander and lobbed a coouple of grenades in there, disabling the tank. It would be a great piece for a tank to have a bunch of British para's crawling on top of it and shooting into the view slits.

It made for good action in SPR etc but most vision slits in tanks have thick glass so you can't shoot into them. Btw, they also lock tank hatches from the inside so they can't be opened from the outside.

OzDigger-I read about that on the SPROE. ( Saving Private Ryan Online Encyclopedia) It would work though If the commander was dumb enough to open the top hatch to get some fresh air while his tank is being swarmed by infantry!

Rob and Terry - Thank you for your complements!

But how cool to have troops attaching anti tank mines to tanks without Zimmerit, but with more success than the guy in SPR!

An open hatch could not be ruled out as I have read several first hand accounts saying that the German commanders were more likely than other nationalities to stick their head out for a better view of the battle around them.
