Very impressive Robin would of been fun to set up.

Too right Wayne thoroughly enjoyed setting these out. Had it in my mind for some time, but nothing like seeing it in the flesh. This is a permanent display. Just think these interchangeable mounted troops are the best. Many thanks to Jakob for the amazing city for these to pass by. Robin.

Nice setup Robin, with the 4th Light Horse entering the city ...

by that time the city had already surrendered... !!!

If you would like to show the surrender, of the first occupation by the Light Horse, you will need to have your troops 'converted' to 10th Light Horse with black and Yellow flashes for the West Australian Regiment!!

Send any troopers back to WA for a rekit !! :) :) I know someone who can do that :) :)

There is an article about it at the Aust. War Memorial website where it states:

It is clear that parts of the 10th Australian Light Horse Regiment were the first troops formally to enter Damascus when they passed through on their way to secure the Homs road and that Major Olden was handed the city by the acting governor, Emir Said, a member of the influential al-Jaza'iri or Qadir family.

Allenby ordered his troops not to enter the city, but bypass it and it was solely for pragmatic reasons that the 10th Light Horse cut through it rather than moving round.

'Good Lord'.........excellent! That is some investment, I count 26 Lighthorse alone (the ones I can see) apart from the other figures and the buildings. :salute::

Great display of lighthorse with equally impressive building and nicely set out. Well done Robin. Regards Greg.

WoW one amazing diorama you have there!!
And it keeps getting better and better.
Thanks for sharing.

Yes really like that desert building mate and great seeing the ALH again in formation. Nice touch with the hippo and fisherman too!^&grin

Thanks all you guys for your positive comments, certainly makes it worth while. With my favourite series and Jakob's excellent dio, how could I go wrong. Robin.

Looks great Robin. That Jakob looks to do an amazing job on his dios/buildings. I've noticed you've recently posted photos of a couple of his works. I guess you are pleased with these purchases?

Very impressed Duke, so much so I have purchased some more. Will show another one this weekend on my diorama thread 'time on my hands at last'. Robin.
