I agree with your post completely...The AWI era is not my main area of collecting interest.... If indeed there exists a "significant variance" in scale for this 22nd Regiment AWI range, it should have been shown in pictures/measurements by Mestell....I know he is a serious AWI collector, who posts excellent dioramas....It would better to explain his concerns/complaints for the benefit of all concerned.....The big question is, are these size differences in the "acceptable range"??....I am not a diorama builder so I will very likely purchase some of the AWI 22nd British footsoldiers irregardless and display them......Beautiful detail First Legion.{bravo}}..........I have not seen any significant scale inconsistencies in the FL ranges that I collect....It seems that FL is sometimes held to standards that are never exspected from other toy soldier manufacturers....Amazing.

Frank,
You say "FL is sometimes held to standards that are never exspected from other toy soldier manufacturers....Amazing".

I guess you don't make the connection that when you constantly post that "First Legion is consistently accurate TRUE 1:30th scale figures" you yourself might be constantly mentioning a standard that is not mentioned so frequently in other areas of the forum. Perhaps it is you who are holding FL to such a high standard or certainly promoting such a view. If you look at Mestell's post about his size issue you can see he refers to comments in the FL scale thread about figures being true 1/30 scale (I think he means your comments).

In case you have not noticed Mestell has not posted in this thread for three days. Mike Miller and Gebhard have PM'd each other but you still want to keep the issue going. Wasn't your post at 53 enough ? You have not purchased the figures that he returned just as you have not purchased FL Vietnam figures. Yet you question the opinion of those that have and noticed differences with other FL figures they have.

How about letting FL collectors have their own opinions rather than trying to overwhelm them with yours ?

Just a thought.

I've heard many collectors being upset when new sets in a range doesn't match up with the older sets.It happened a couple of times when I was collecting Jenkins, there was a big stink when Conte's Sons of the South came out,I've seen it with CS products so it isn't just picking on FL.Someone was saying how the Stalingrad figures were smaller than the Vietnam range but that's not a big deal as I don't think too many would mix them. It's not about people being different sizes but you can just tell when figures aren't the same scale.Mike is a stand up guy so just because he didn't take pictures doesn't mean he wasn't telling the truth,he wanted those figures very much. There is no reason for ANY manufacturer to let different scales be in the same range.

I am quite shocked to read some of the responses aimed at Mike. He has no hidden agenda, no reason to say they are different sizes if they aren't and somehow he has taken a bit of a bashing.

I think some of us need to take a step back and have a look at ourselves and how we react to others. Such a shame.

Well I think all that needs to be said has been said and this thread is now closed.
