This looks great Mike. I too, have been preparing for the arrival of the 22nd. The range looks very nice and I can't wait to get some of my own.

Looking forward to some pics once the battle starts....

After a long wait for the British 22nd Foot offering, my order of 11 figures arrived yesterday. I must say that I was disappointed in what I received. The sculpting and painting were excellently executed on each figure just as one would expect from First Legion. However, the size of the figures were noticeably larger than previous FL AWI releases. I am aware of the current thread debating the "scale" of FL figures. Some on that thread insist that FL is a perfect 1/30 scale, and others state that the scale is consistent within each range. The 22nd Foot figures I received are noticeably larger (taller) in size compared to the 1st Delaware and the 5th Foot figures I have, and they look like giants next to my Colonial Militia figures. I have no idea what scale they are or for that matter don't really worry about scale. All I really expect is consistenacy in size within the range, and this has not happened with the AWI range. I have already contacted my dealer and have advised that I am returning the 11 figures for a refund. I would show a photo of comparison but I have already boxed the figures up for return shipment. Such a disappointment after such a long wait for this release. :(

Mike,
That is indeed a truly sad thing and I hate to hear it. I like you don't freak out over what the exact scale is, so long as their is consistency in the range I collect. To hear that First Legion has failed to do this is worrying information in the extreme! Hopefully you can find some other figures to soothe your mishap. What's more this is a sad thing for us all as I know many, like myself, were looking forward to seeing the photos of your slug fest. :(
Best,
Josh

Mike,.

As I read your post I felt the disappointment right along with you. I share the same thoughts with regards to the size of the figures; keep it consistent. Thanks for the report though, as it guide me in my purchases of this range. I will now re-think my plan on displaying the 22nd Brits, maybe setting them up by themselves rather than in a battle scene with the militia as I originally planned. I feel for you and I'm sorry that we will never see that great dio you had planned.

That is very disappointing, Mike. Had looked forward to the next part of your story begun so beautifully last month. Very surprised that anything like that could happen with FL as they are normally so professional and consistent e.g ACW figures. Colman

Don't worry Mike, I took a quick photo to highlight the "problem." Sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the figures.

Hello Mike,
Sad news, I understand your disappointment after a long wait. Many thanks for your feedback, the 22nd Foot is on my wish list to complete my AWI collection.
I checked this morning , and it seems that Militia troops are a little bit smaller compare to 1st Delaware and the 5th Foot figures.
All the best
Xavier

PS : Thanks Matt for your answer.

Matt I would like to see the same comparison photos of the 22nd Foot Standing Firing and the 22nd Foot standing at the ready next to the same poses of the 1st Delaware and the Colonial milita. Then my concern will be obvious. The 22nd foot figure you selected here is not a good representation of my concerns.
:smile2: Mike

Good to see a scene from you again........................SCALE ISSUES >>>UUUGGGGHHH........Not just FL though.

I don't see much of a difference, if any, in the figures in the photo Matt posted. Obviously to each his own, but if I purchased new FL ACW figures (when they come out later this year) and the scale is off, I sure won't be returning them as people are different sizes, etc., ad infinitum, not to mention the FL ACW figures are the best there is (in my opinion).

In addition and this is just me, if I have an issue (whatever that may be) with a shipment I receive, I contact my dealer privately and let the matter be handled discreetly. I guess that's just me though :rolleyes2:

Like I said in the other thread, play it cool ^&cool

If you'd like to see that then by all means photograph them yourself. I grabbed 3 completely random figures from my shelf to photograph them to let folks make up their own minds on if we're way out of scale as you think or if perhaps you are just a tad too critical.

I have little time or inclination to discuss this further and this will be my last post on the topic.

Like I said, I'm really sorry you didn't like the figures Mike and I absolutely mean that. I think you're a genuinely good guy and extremely knowlegeable, but perhaps you're being a tad too hard on us (and your dealer).

Matt
