Barksdale leads his Mississippi Bgde against the Excelsior Bgde at Gettysburg, July 2, 1863. He is mortally wounded in the action that breaks that part of the Union line.

Don Troiani's work.

Note: FIgs are predominantly WB, with some FL, one Conte and 1/72 HAT Zouaves. The barn is by Steve/29 Let's GO. The sapling in the foreground is from my garden. :smile2: Barkdale fig is an Imiri (?) kit. Chris

Well if you wanted realism Chris, you certainly have achieved that in spades. Very well thought out diorama. Robin.

Absolutely outstanding, Chris. My favorite action at Gettysburg so realistically rendered. -- Al

Wow, this is spectacular in every way, talk about doing a piece of art justice.

Outstanding.

Chris, brilliant and an excellent use of 1/72nd scale figures - I thought it was a painted backdrop when I first saw it! {bravo}}

Chris,

As the other have said, you did an outstanding job in re-creating the Troiani work!!

Your creativity makes all the figures work well together.

Very inspirational set up!

Who are the zuoaves? They look like 5th NY but i couldn’t see them listed in the Excelsior brigade opposing Barksdale

Outstanding work. Creative use of many different manufacturers.

They are the 114th PA, a Zouave reg't. They fought Barksdale's bgde at the Shefry farm.

They do have similar gear to the 5th NY. I always assumed it was the 5th NY and when i read in this thread about the Excelsior brigade i was surprised and wondered who the Zuoaves were.
Thanks for filling in the blanks
