Baseball 2012 (2 Viewers)

Yanks just set fire to our closer, scoring 5 in the top of the 9th, to lead 7-2 going into our last at bat. Bringing Johnson in is about the only move that Buck has made that didn't work out in the last month. Have to give him that one. All credit to CC as he really handcuffed the O's tonight. Barring a miracle comeback, game 2 is going to be VERY important for the O's and it will fall to Chen to keep the O's in it. I hope Chen is up to the task. He was the best O's pitcher up until about a month ago, but he has been in a slump, losing his last 4 decisions. He'll need to pull a Saunders for us tomorrow.:wink2: -- Al

Sorry about that Al :(

If it's any consolation -- probably isn't -- Giants are getting torched by Reds. At this point, they seem the team most likely to exit. At least As are going home. Birds must win tomorrow, as do the Cards, for that matter.

Sort of an odd development. With the exception of the Tiger's 2 home wins over the A's, EVERY playoff game has been won by the visitor. So much for the home field advantage theories. I hope Baltimore can break the trend. For that matter, I hope they can even get the game in tonight. Looks like the weather may not co-operate. -- Al

Al, if there is any chance of our O's keep this season going we HAVE to win tonite, we played decent ball in N.Y. this season and even at a slim chance there is still a chance to win 2 out of 3 there (real slim) but a sweep??^&confuse aint happening mate, so I'm doing my part, wearing my lucky draws today:) didn't step on any cracks, did not wear my Oriole jersey as we have lost the last 2 times I wore it:mad: and put a good old lucky rub on my good luck rock I brought back from my homeplace in Virginny:) so now we have to win!!!...Sammy

Sammy, I completely agree. A must win game tonight or start planning next season, as I also believe a sweep in NY is HIGHLY unlikely. Chen has got me concerned as he hasn't been real effective for a while now. I might almost be tempted to start Tillman or Gonzalez on short rest. But Chen is rested and the others can always be used if neccesary. Biggest game of the season. Keep it close and I think we win. Scads of runs could spell trouble. -- Al

Nats got masacreed by the Cards so now it's back to DC at 1-1. One thing for sure, the Nats starting pitching better find it's game or they are not going to have much chance to advance. Two games in and the starters have been mediocre and bad. Time to step it up. -- Al

If the Orioles go on to win this series, the ALCS and the World Series, MLB may come looking for Sammy and ask for those lucky drawers to put in an exhibit at the HOF...................

Hey Sammy, O's are ok. Chen came through with flying colors and the O's kept it close and low scoring, their season-long winning formula. Now 30-9 in one run games. And the O's are back to their second-half pitching saviors, Gonzalez and Tillman. I like the O's in 5.^&grin -- Al

I only wear those on very special days so the HOF would have to come up with some serious coin!!:)...Sammy

I can see a bidding war between the HOF and some Ebay peddler for Sammy's lucky drawers...............

On to New York!! if my O's can play like they did in the regular season in N.Y. well we might have a fighting chance, if we can push it to 5 games I like our odds, it's only Tuesday nite and I'm already getting nervous about Wednesdays game!!...Sammy

Hope it turns out to be a good day for the Nats and O's.:wink2: Going to be a long day for baseball with 4 games stacked up starting at 1pm and running past midnight. Well pitched, close games last night allowed both SF and Oakland to win and stay alive in their series. I hope the Nats can get a good game from their starter, Jackson. He is the only starter the Nats have with any playoff experience, ironically, while he was with the Cards. Go O's, go Nats! -- Al

Glad to see the Bay Area teams bounce back with nice crisp games. Go Giants!

Should be an interesting day of baseball, hoping the Giants and Cardinals can pull out wins today.

I see A-rod is back to his old post 2009 playoff self, swinging and missing at everything.

The Yankees wil be fine now that they are back in Williamsport, I'm sure the corpses of Russell Martin and Ichiro will hit home runs tonight, throw the Grandyman in there too, he'll hit one of his epic 315' bombs to right for sure.

What about the As?

Don't tell me you're a fan of the baseball version of Bellichek {eek3}

I like the A's but am pulling for the Tigers, they've got the better pitching and can take down the Yankees should the two meet in the ALCS...........

A disappointing repeat of Game 2 for the Nats in Game 3. Lost 8-0 with the same general problems. Got a bad start from Jackson who put the Nats down 4-0 after 2 innings. Once again the bullpen got torched and once again the Nats couldn't hit with runners on base. In short, a total systems failure. Still got life though. Detwiler gets the chance to save the Nats tomorrow. We shall see if this team can pull itself together. -- Al
