Seems the lady attracting A Rods attention was an Aussie as made the papers here today.
Looks like the NLCS is going back to San Francisco. Giants are up 5-0 in the 8th right now in Game 5.

Zito was the anti CC tonight, he sacked up and pitched his *** off, saving the Giants season, unless the Cards score 5 in the bottom of the ninth to tie, 6 to win.....................
Zito turned himself around this year. It is the first winning season he has had since he came to SF. He has won a couple of big games this season. He wasn't even on the post-season roster when SF won it all a couple years back, so it's good to see him do well. The Cards still have a fight on their hands if SF's other pitchers can step up. -- AlYeah, Zito was like his old Cy Young-winning self tonight. Good performance to keep the Giants in the series.

I don't care how many times I have seen it in the last few weeks, but the State Farm commercial with Andre Dawson and Kerry Wood is great! It is funny every time! "What year is it?"^&grin

Cards just scored one in the top of the 6th, but still got a ways to go. At the moment, it looks like both of these teams seasons will come down to one final game. Jeesh! -- AlDon't know what Vogelsong has against the Cards, but he is dominating again, just like Game 2. Giants up 5-0 in the 5th...

I would like to see the Giants take it, as well. I am a huge fan of the Giants from the '60's. I grew up with that fantastic line-up that could never quite win it all. Lost the '62 series and finished in 2nd place five years in a row from '65 thru '69. What great players they had. The 3 M's, of course, Mays, Marichal, and McCovey. The Alou brothers, all 3 at the same time. Cepeda, Perry, McCormick, Bolin, Hart, Dietz, Lanier, Hunt, and Bobby Bonds. What a trip down memory lane. I still think Mays was the best ever and Marichal is a very underated pitcher. He actually won more games in the '60's than any other pitcher in MLB, a time when Gibson and Koufax were at their peaks. What great teams. -- AlAs an old Giants fan, hopefully we'll see the heirs of McGraw, Mathewson, Hubbell, Ott, Durocher, Thomson, Mays and McCovey in the World Series.
That gap between 1954 and 2010 is a real puzzler. I was in agony during the '60's when SF was so close, so many times, but was always the bridesmaid. All those great teams with nothing to show for it. Another WS title would look great for SF. Maybe Willie, Willie, and Juan can help will them to another title.:wink2:^&grin -- AlI don't think the Cards took their foot off the gas. I just think that the Giants pitching dominated, which is what happens in the post season. Look at what they did to the Rangers in the World Series a couple of years ago.
All things being equal, the Giants should win the World Series. I just don't think the Tigers are all that good and their bullpen is atrocious. They have no closer and does Leyland trust Valverde in a big spot? Guess we'll find out. I will say Giants in 6 or 7. The Giants, despite their gloried history, are not known for many World Series Championships (only 5 out of 22 visits) and certainly not in close proximity to each other: 1905, 1921, 1922, 1954 and 2010. Hopefully, we can add 2012 to that number.
