I don't think he is on anything. To do so would be incredibly stupid because if caught he would be banned for life and he loves and lives to play baseball. He's playing better so far because he had a year off from physical activity, allowing him to finally get healthy, not to mention clearing his head; he has a different attitude and has kept a low profile, refusing to comment on the Yankees' refusal to pay $6 million.

The time off can do wonders for you.

I'm not a big A-rod fan, but I certainly hope this is the case. Aside from what another violation would mean for A-rod (which means nothing to me), MLB doesn't need another such headache and distraction. I just want to enjoy the games without even more this PED BS. -- Al

A-Rod was the scapegoat for Selig
How about the other 99 names on the list
then it could be fair to knock all of them
instead of one
By the way how many positive A-Rod had ??

The latest victim of the pitching buzzsaw known as Bartolo Colon are the O's, beaten 3-2. Colon is now 5-1 with a 2.90 ERA and, most impressively, has walked only 1 (one, uno) man in his 5 starts, spanning 40.1 innings. Early frontrunner for the Cy Young.^&grin -- Al

Why not? Maybe he and The Black Knight can finish 1-2.

I'm pulling for the Black Night; he came across as a class act in the E60 story about him; fans were annoyed at him that he rehabbed in New York and GOD FORBID, he has a social life and was seen at Rangers games, oh the horror.

Loved that he went to Jeters last game wearing a Yankees hat as he was a Yankees fan as a kid growing up in CT.

Fans have to get it through their thick skulls that these guys are human beings, not robots who do everything the way the fans want it done.

Good for him, I'm pulling for that kid, I hope he has a stellar career.

If anyone is keeping count...From the past transgression file...Bartolo Colon, the Oakland A’s pitcher who underwent a stem cell procedure in 2010 that raised flags with Major League Baseball, tested positive for testosterone and will be suspended for 50 games, the league announced Wednesday.

Colon becomes the second player in recent weeks to face a suspension for elevated levels of the what BALCO founder Victor Conte calls “the granddaddy of all anabolic steroids — testosterone.”

Is he tested on a regular basis? Michael

Colonel Hogan...I see nothing... :wink2: -- Al

Yes, he is. Wonder if he was doing steroids when he was playing for the Yankees :wink2:

Boy, talk about feast or famine and you're talking the Nats offense. In 13 of their 28 games they have scored 2 or fewer runs and are 4-9 in those games. Guaranteed to derail the championship express. {eek3} -- Al

Looks like it could be a very competitive race for the Cy Young in the NL this year with several pitchers having 4 or more wins. Right now, Greinke, in all statistical categories, appears to be the leader.

I thought that was protocol in the Bronx; no beards, get a haircut, wear a 2,000.00 suit and walk into the ballpark with a pissed off look on your face and get on the juice....................

Al:

I picked up on a couple of things after seeing the highlights of today's game. First Bryce Harper is really good and second, so is Giancarlo Stanton.

Jason, I think you are correct on both counts. Nats have had trouble with Stanton, always hurts us. Nats would be in real trouble offensively if Harper wasn't performing well. He has been the only consistent power that the Nats have. Zimmerman has been getting RBI's and Ramos and Escobar are hitting for average, but the power is missing from Zimmerman, Desmond, and Ramos at the moment. Those 3, along with Harper, were supposed to supply the long ball but Harper is the only real consistent threat at present, which is why he leads the majors in walks. Harper has 8 of the team's 21 Hr's and 26 of the team's 95 walks and leads the team in RBI's. I shudder to think where the Nats might be without Harper's bat to this point. -- Al

Does Manny Ramirez and his drug tainted Red Sox championships bother you even a little. You bust on the Yanks and yet selectedly ignore the FACTS that Ortiz and Ramirez were both on the doping list and both were responsible for the RS series wins.^&confuse You are like the John, who says his hookers are better than my hookers, when after all, they are still hookers:redface2:..Your team has no claim to baseball sainthood in any doping discussion, that you choose to start. At least my baseball team does not tank seasons..Michael

Nope.

And there were no championships, as in more than one, only 2004; he wasn't on the 2007 and 2013 teams.

He should have had another WS title in 2003, but Giambi the steroid user hit not one, but two home runs vs Pedro Martinez in game 7 of the ALCS, so that's a title the Yankees won thanks to a steroid cheat..............oh, wait a minute, they lost to Beckett and the Marlins in the 2003 WS.

Nevermind.

I was thinking of the 2009 title they won on Aroids back, the steroid cheater, or the 2000 title they won off of Clemens' back, another steroid cheater.

Glass houses Michael, glass houses.

Nope.

He got busted while he was on the Dodgers, not the Red Sox.

Two guys who will never get in the Hall but probably would have had they not used steroids: Clemens and Ramirez.
