He is pretty amazing, admittedly doing it against inferior competition but still impressive, not to mention he has the most hits for the pitchers on the team. I read that he holds the record for most scoreless inning for pitchers over 42 years of age, admittedly, again, there have not been a lot of pitchers over 42.
He seems unflappable and his expression never seems to change. If I had to choose between him and Niese for the post season rotation, assuming they get there, it would not be a competition.
Saw an interesting article about Matt Williams in today's Washington Post. Some players say he shows tension while on the bench and that this affects some of the players. He's in a tough spot. I'm sure he will learn a lot from a season like this and will make him better as a manager, whether for the Nationals or some other team.
