Baseball 2016 (5 Viewers)

Another day, another loss for the O's, now 0-8, who went 1-11 with RISP. At least the pitching is coming around. Gonzalez looked good.
NYY's pitching looks good. Hitting not so much. Lost their 2nd straight 1-0 game today.
The Nats are looking pretty decent with a 6-1 record but the defense needs work. -- Al

Al:

I am not a Yankee fan as you well know. However, it was good to see Sabathia have a strong outing today.

Ok, no panic, yet, but we are now a couple of weeks onto this and the O's are 0-9. Getting a bit ridiculous. Their big OF signing, Kim from Korea, has played in 7 games and is 0-21. I understand having to adjust to an all new enviornment in a foreign culture, with all that entails, but a baseball is still a baseball. Hope it's not a matter of being overmatched but just the need for adjustment. -- Al

O's managed a 4-4 tie today with the NYY's split squad. Runs the O's spring record to 0-9-2, still the only team without a victory. They are getting closer.:rolleyes2: -- Al

No worries, I'm sure they'll get that first W by about August or so.....................

C'mon George. You and I both know that by August, the O's will have the AL East wrapped up.{eek3}^&grin -- Al

I wouldn't be too worried right now. In about a week teams will be putting together the team that will break camp. If they don't have a win after that, then I'd be worried.

I'm watching game 7 of the 1979 WS, O's/Pirates on MLB classic, channel 258 here in Boston. Those Orioles uniforms back then were hideous, those orange pull overs with that hat with the front panel white, they look more like beer league softball uniforms than MLB uniforms, the Pirates uniform wasn't much better, bright yellow pull over tops with the black pants.

And that field in Baltmore; the entire infield looks like painted dirt, you can see the football field lines running across it, what a mess it was.

LET'S GO O's!!!! up 1-0 right now, things are looking good for Baltimore................................Kiko Garcia, holy Christ, nice hair do as well.....................

Ah yes, the age of polyester and spandex uniforms. It was a horrible period in human history. -- Al

Wow, what a great game this is, a classic for sure..............Pops hits a two run bomb, Bucs up 2-1, Orioles load the bases in the bottom of the 8th, Eddie Murray hits a rocket to right...................................................and Parker snags it...................too bad Sammy wasn't wearing his lucky draws back then, maybe that one leaves the yard.

Top of the ninth now.

Earl Weaver with 47 pitching changes in the 9th inning, talk about overmanaging.

They should have let him borrow that goofy cart they use for the pitchers for all his trips to the mound.

4-1 now in the 9th thanks to back to back HBP.

And the immortal Pat Kelly makes the final out, ballgame, series Pirates.

I though the O's were going to make a comeback when that boozebag Wild Bill Hiccup did the 0-R-I-O-L-E-S...................ORIOLES!!!!!!!!!!!!! cheer, he almost fell off the dugout and onto the field.

Oh well........................

O's lose 7-1. Now 0-10. Beginning to get on my nerves... -- Al

I've never heard of a team going 0-10 in ST.
Don't know about ST, but the O's did open the 1988 regular season with an impressive 0-21 streak, putting them 16 games out of first place after those 21 games. What a team that was.:rolleyes2: -- Al

Don't remind me of that Series George :mad: and at this rate I may have to break out the lucky draws just so the O's can get a win in Spring Ball {eek3}...Sammy

At least they were memorable....................you'd almost have to try to lose 21 games in a row.

The first team in MLB who's season was over by Mothers Day...................

Okay, time for a serious baseball discussion! ^&grin It was rumored that Oriole Park was not going to be serving Natty Boh (National Bohemian Beer) in 2016! http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/...d-at-camden-yards-in-2016-20160219-story.html
Close the franchise. {eek3} Of course it's no longer "brewed in the land of pleasant living." But the Os and Natty Boh belong together. BTW, I just finished the last of the case I brought back from my visit last November. Chris
